We’re happy to have Fr. Jonathan Loop, the Principal of Immaculate Conception Academy, join us for the first of three episodes on this sacrament. Today we’ll be looking at the basis of marriage. We’ll look at its institution, and we’ll also look a the purposes of marriage - are there some that are more important than others? We’ll also look at what marriage is, in its essence. Is it a natural union, a supernatural union, or both? And what about the sacramental grace of this sacrament - is it different than the other sacraments in any particular way? We’ll take three episodes to go through this sacrament because it is so attacked by the world and Modernism today.

The education of children needs to be seen as TOP priority for today's parents, in the light of all of the anti-life, anti-man/woman indoctrination happening to children in schools daily.

This is brilliant. What we need is a SSPX homeschool program. SSPX priests are so well educated in the truths of our faith and not all of us can live near their few schools in the USA. How I wish we had a home education program like that in the seminaries. I really appreciate these videos. How we need more true Catholic education for both adults and our children! God bless the SSPX.

And, yes, I have read Archbishop Lefebvre's books. That is the best thing to do, which is why now I ask for a homeschool program for kids, perhaps high school age.

In the age of error and attack against marriage, I think this is just the tip of the iceberg. Marriage should be talked about more than this. Many Traditional Catholics know little or nothing about it. Please, do more!! This is not enough! But thank you for this 🙏🏽

There have been countless good books written on the subject of Marriage. I would suggest to folks, "Three to Get Married" by Fulton Sheen. Every trad married by an SSPX priest, is prepared if they paid attention.

Look into successful families, a book by the SSPX. It is exceptional, practical, and irreplacable.

Brilliant work for our Lord! Thank you both. At our SSPX chapel we have families of parents who were born in the 1950s who home educated their many children. But, because of feminism which has quadrupled house prices and rents in UK, the average working man's wage no longer covers house and family as it did not long ago, so, due to feminism, most women must go to university and get a job to earn what used to be called a man's wage which means that each family is bringing in two salaries and no longer one salary. Thus each family is 'richer' until say 1998 when house prices increased. Otherwise, if women-middle class and working class- didn't need to go out to work, there would still be the one income in the family, as I was raised. I was born in the 1960s. Rent and mortgage cost the same now in UK. Mortgage sellers insist on a 20% or more deposit. Few couples who now work full time could afford to save 20% for a deposit. Normally today, £36,000. That's just the DEPOSIT! A man will need a very high paying job to not need his wife to go out to work. He would need to earn a minimum of £70,000 per year! Men still, over their working life, earn more than their wives because they do not take much paternity leave but the days of a man being quite easily able to get a job to pay for house and family on his own salary/wage, are long gone! This, I think, bodes negatively for Catholic families. Hence the need for top level education to get those £70,000 a year incomes. We have a brilliant school at SSPX called Saint Michael's. stmichaels-school.uk/en Some of the boys have recently come into the top 8% for the national maths challenge! We as a married couple sponsor the school. God bless you.

In our large traditional community, most of the mothers stay home. And we have traditional schools K through 12 and college as well, soon to go from a 2 year to 4 year program, next year I think. It can be done. It may mean not having all the things that the world says we must have, but it can be done. And nothing and no one can replace mother in the home.

@@PraytheRosaryEveryDay Dear Mr LeBlanc, That is very interesting. Are the average costs for these fathers of families for mortgage or rent the same cost as in other nearby areas? Does the average wage in your area the same for these men as for other men nearby? Are you living in an economically affordable place? Is the average income of the households in your traditional community different, higher or lower, than in local non Catholic areas nearby? I enjoy economics and I have learnt from KZfaq Dr T Sowell.

My favorite part of the Nuptial Blessing is when the Priest says to the newly married couple, "...and may you see your children's children, even to the third and fourth generation."

38 and still unmarried. If I do marry, I doubt I will see children. That part of the Nuptial Blessing is going to sting… 😓 EDIT: can you address in part 2 or 3 the Canonical status of a "marriage" between two lapsed Catholics being "married" by a lapsed-Catholic Justice of the Peace, and whether Catholic should, or even CAN, attend?

Maybe you are not born again? John 3:5-6 shows we need to be born again to end up in heaven. I suggest you read Imitation of Christ by Thomas À Kempis. Focus on Lord God by being grateful to Him for everything He has done for us and keeps doing. Without Him we would all be liars. God is the truth and every man a liar - Romans 3:4

Is it possible to receive the sacrament of matrimony officiated by an sspx priest in the US, without a permission slip from the state?
@clarencelafuentes5331
@clarencelafuentes5331 2 жыл бұрын
Yes. Read what Cardinal Stickler and Father Stepanich instructed. FSSPX and others who have Bishops and Priests Ordained, examples, by ABp Thuc, ABp Lefebvre, or Bishop Mendez [USA] and around the world are valid. The sacraments are in supplied jurisdiction and there are Bishops, as in Jordan, Montana, who brought in the Sons of the Holy Redeemer.

What about those who don't get married until later in life when children are no longer biologically possible? Does God have a purpose for these couples? And couples who are infertile?

Why marriage is a cross: - wife has to give painful birth to children - husband and wife have to work as a team work (put our ego aside) - they have to raise the children well (children are often disobedient)
@deus_vult8111

Correct. Marriage BINDS a man and a woman for life to raise any children God gives them. The opposite of binding is “loosing”. Neither man nor woman are free to purse their own interests after marriage, it’s no longer just about them but each other. It’s a union that must be greatly contemplated and prayed over before entered into.
