Wonderful Sacred Harp singing....I always think of the Titanic when I hear this song.

I remember my great grand father, grandfather, and my daddy singing this. I love it!

I sing out of the Denson book so this isn't in our usual singing but it's a favorite. I am so moved by the tempo - it seems it gives every note time to ring into my heart.

60+ years ago we sang this in Church of Christ at a somewhat faster tempo, otherwise the singing is very similar. And I also hear happy little squeals of babies just like way back then. Our hymnbook, Great Songs of the Church, used shape notes.

THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD. 1 Children Of GOD 2 children of the devil WHICH ONE ARE YOU? As you can see clearly from these scriptures and more than several other scriptures in The Bible, that once saved always saved is false doctrine. We CANNOT die in ANY SIN or any UNFORGIVENESS OF OTHERS. Before we leave this earth, before we die, or before the Lord calls us home, we must confess and forsake ALL SIN. NO SIN enters Heaven. We will ALL be before the Judgment Seat of Christ to give an account of our lives. BEFORE we die or the Lord calls us home, We MUST be without spot, wrinkle, or blemish. We must use God’s Holy Spirit through His Son Jesus and live a life of True Holiness. We through the Grace that God has given us through His Son Jesus Christ through His Holy Spirit must live in HOLINESS without which NO ONE shall see God. All the pastors teaching this once saved always saved doctrine should REPENT for leading all those in their congregations astray. The Word of God says WOE to those pastors who lead my sheep astray. To all those who still believe in this false doctrine should be led of the Holy Spirit and read The Bible for themselves not just listen to their pastors. Amen 🙏

Someone with the privilege to stand in the middle and lead should be careful that his/her hand movements are actually a reflection of the written rhythmic structure of the song.
