The Oriental magpie-robin is a small songbird found primarily in South Asia. Known for its melodious calls, it often perches visibly and sings. Males are easily distinguished by their black and white plumage, while females are mostly grey.
In today's episode, we see a dedicated dad bird patiently trying to feed his little chicks some yummy food. However, the chicks, perhaps feeling a touch of teenage rebellion, lazily disregard his offerings. This sad scene unfolds as the dad watches his young ones ignore the love and nutrition he's providing. Not one to waste, the dad gives in to temptation and devours the food himself. Just when you think he's done, he secretly strategizes a new plan! Handing over the food to mom, she takes on the task of feeding the indifferent chicks. Birds, they're just like us sometimes!

6:31 Wasn't the handing over the food the mom's idea? She opens her beak here and it looks like she's suggesting him to hand over the food. But how does she know at this moment that the chicks have not taken the food from the dad? edit: and it looks like the chicks recognize the presence of the mom just by the sound of her 'landing' and her footsteps and open their beaks before she makes any vocal sounds at all. In fact she doesn't make any vocals when feeding them. She does so (or has to) only when she has taken the food from the dad. Probably because there were no sounds of her landing and then her jumping closer to the chicks.
