dad was on a mission....dang.... these children are loved, I've commented before, but one can see God all over your family. I keep rewatching Alex's DNA results as it is a very special moment. And it strikes me as such a mystery solved, a mystical experience almost, where God shows him what his roots are, that he IS connected to many other people. The kid is special, can just imagine what he has gone through and STILL shines for light. What amazed me was another video that was posted up where he and as family explained kid tantrums and he looked at you and said with passion and truth " it's okay you can send me back they all do" and both parents responded with even greater Love. The strength this boy shows is utterly amazing.......you see it in his emotions in the video...where he wipes his tears and tries to share more but battles within- very manly - .....what amazes me as one who has served in the Armed Forces and studied in the Seminary for a while ...is his spiritual strength. He has this spiritual strength that I haven't seen in a while, a grace, a gift from God.........its powerful. and it seems it will be used "for the cause of truth, goodness and right". I really really enjoy all of your videos and have really moved me in deep ways..........the videos are very humbling, loving and I do cry with them...such a powerful experience. Thank you for sharing.

I had pots before it was called "pots" back in middle school and high school.They use to refer to it as Neurocardiogenic Syncope. I found that Gatorade helped a lot! Anything with electrolytes in general typically helps :)

Broken can be alot better than a meniscus tear! Im a physio. Dont be too sad. Its probably better that its broken. For the long term. A broken bone heals better than a meniscus. So sorry you have to go throught that! But if your bone heals it can even be stronger than before. If its a meniscus it doesnt heal. So this is good I think! So sorry you have to go throught it! 💙💙💙

awww it’s going to be ok Alex. My sophmore year I got two surgeries last year and ended up having to wait a month to get a bone donor to replace the broken bone. The first day this junior year, I was at tryouts and I injured my knee again. I am now able to play but not at the same level of intensity but I am so grateful I can still play. It will take a while to recover and physical therapy may be difficlut but you are determined and this will make you stronger. You have all my love and support through this rough time but I promise you’ll make it through. Stay prositive and surround yourself with supportive people that will help you recover. (:

I actually have POTS too. I am not going to school any longer but when I did, I fainted one time in class. So I can understand how Halie is feeling. Two times I got cuts on my forehead from falling on sharp objects. I don't have a treatment, but I can live without one. I'm so sorry for Alex. So crazy my son broke his knee and they told us at hospital it was either MCL or ACL tear. Told him he could walk on it. Well he was and bent the knee and broke all the little bones in the back of the knee and snapped a broke his femur more he also had a broke across the knee cap. So he had to have surgery. Something happened. They called me like 2 weeks after telling me that he can not at all walk around on it. Had surgery 4 days before his 16th birthday. Doctor said he was very lucky cause if his femur snapped anymore further to the center he would of had to have a full knee replacement. It is just so crazy the pain tolerance our boys have. To be walking on broken knees the doctor couldn’t believe he had been walking on his knee for 2 weeks with the damage he had. So glad Alex is doing better Love watching your family and the Crazy Middles.

I know exactly how Alex feels, i just had surgery on my hip after waiting 6 months. Just let him know that he can get through it, I know it is especially hard as an athlete, its been like 8 months since I last boxed. But the best thing for him is to stay as active as possible, because otherwise you kinda become depressed and for me it has taken a while to finally get back to my normal self. We love you Alex, and you can do it!!!

I broke my ankle playing basketball and I didn’t even know. Me and this other kid tripped over each other and once I realized what happened I had this feeling that I couldn’t walk on it, I felt no pain except when I had to hop to the branch’s. It turns out I broke the cartilage and I got surgery it was a long almost 2 months no walking and I was so sad that I couldn’t run and do sports anymore. I am healed now, but I’m still not allowed to do sports till next year. This experience made me realize I am stronger and braver then I thought, surgery was terrifying, but I wasn’t scared of them cutting into me and drilling my foot, I was scared that I wouldn’t be healed fast enough to do anything. It turns out I started walking on my foot 2 weeks before I was supposed to and I was healed up extremely early with perfect x-rays. I hope next season for sports goes well, love you guys!

Poor girl! I can relate 2 weeks ago I fainted at work in front of customers and coworkers and it was definitely embarrassing.

I have something a lot like Hallie, it's called vasovagal syncope (mouthful, huh? xD). It's where if I see, hear about, or sometimes even think about injuries or blood the blood from my head will drop to my feet and I'll pass out. I've done it since I was little

Haley I have the same thing. They never gave it a name for me. I have been a fainter since I was little. I am now 47 and still deal with it to this day. But yes they tell me to have as much salt as I want. It's definitely not fun always a fear of passing out in public and them freaking out and calling an ambulance. I have passed out in public but thank God my family has always been with me that no ambulance was called but still have that fear when I am alone and in public.

My sister had a bad tear in her knee over a year ago and it took months and months for her to recover and it still occasionally causes her problems. The doctor said that it can actually be better if you break it because it can be fixed more quickly! So hopefully Alex will have a speedier recovery!! Patience is key! ❤️

I’ve been struggling with it for a few years now and wish there was something more than drink water and eat salt because they really don’t help! Her blood pressure seemed pretty good. Mine ranges low 90s over low 60s. My top number hardly ever goes above 100 and the bottom is always 60s. How does she do with cheer? I am also told my circulation is poor also.

something I learned raising my kids is that if I use aloe from the plant itself on their injuries, burns, scrath=ched bites, etc on them they heal much faster and leave almost no scars on them and drinking alow water helps heal on the inside. I had 2 c sections and used them on my skin and drinking it. There is almost no scars from either of them. you live in a warm dry state so you should be able to grow them year round in the hot weather.

Poor alex. My son had a key hole operation and he had a couple of physical therapy but that was 3 years ago and he is much better as his knee used to hurt for ages so surgery don't even hurt

Health scientist & fellow POTSie here. Just to make sure you're aware that Halie should also be drinking 2.5-3 litres of fluids per day. Here in the UK, they recommend 5.5-6g of salt per day for POTSies, while non-POTSies shouldn't have more than 5g per day according to the WHO.

Happened to me too. I fell did something to my knee went to hospital. The doc ordered an MRI Stat while the nurse thought I was faking my pain. When leaving the hospital she said some not so nice things while trying to force me to walk on it. A day later found out it was an inch away from being broken. It took 2 months to heal. The only downside was when it was snowing. At that time I was in college I remember being late to most of my classes , the professors did understand though. Still to this day a small part of me regrets not going back to the nurse and requesting an apology

I did the boold tests in biology last year to and a kid faited to!!! It was so fast, we suddenly heard a bum and he was laying on the floor!!!

My brother sometime faints if he see's blood. Its actually very common for some people. Next time tell her to drink some juice before she does anymore blood work.

I have pots and other conditions, I have to infuse 2 liters of saline everyday for 8 hours a day.

I have POTS as well and many of its related conditions. For me, it stems from having Chiari Malformation and my brain stem is being compressed (and that is what controls your respiratory functions, heart rate etc.). Whenever we do something that raises our heart rate, it causes us to pass out.

I want I broke my leg in 2018 and had surgery and it is painful and it take patience and putting foot all the time make sure you not walking on it . Last when I got hardware put I started notice hardware it started to hard made my leg strff And the doctor decided to take it and I’m so grateful for tell my story to someone them know it is not having a broken leg or ankle is not fun I hope read this think about choosing how be to walk and choose your actions wisely
