he knew mikasa would be there at that specific time, and he knew it would be mikasa to kill him. he probably saw it as one of the “memories of the future” that being the attack titan gave him, so he didn’t want to officially love mikasa to not hurt her in the process and he wanted to see her one last time in that moment

In the ending song, "Itterasshai," they were reunited. Beautifully conveyed mikasa's feelings for him. She finally found the place she was looking for her dedicated heart, which was beside eren's 😭💔

It's the perfect ending,,, in starting I also feel sad but after understand eran that he did it for friends when their friends want to save from titan at that time he promised himself to kill all titan but when he knows that other human want to destroy edlians so he started rumbling and if mikasa did not kill him so how he saw mikasa in his lat time and how the chain of ymir and titans end ??? I think writter shows that history repeat itself ,,, and be have proof in last panel,,, but erans dream was to free his people and they live and die peacefully and he achieve his goal... That flash back is actually an alternative timeline it's not just a memory There is a theory that says that while eren woke up under the tree in S1 he was dreaming about this alternative timeline that's the reason he cried and asked "why is your hair is so long" Author gave the ending but it's the only way to free ymir it's sad but acceptable ending
