I wrote this piece during my college days at The Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. It was originally released on "The Art of Making Fire" in 1996, and re-released in 1998 on The Narada compilation "Masters of Acoustic Guitar".
This gorgeous guitar is an OMC model built by Jason Kostal. I am a lucky man to get to play this beauty! kostalguitars.com
I normally play this on a guitar using Hipshot locking tuners to grab the bass notes in the chorus. The Gotoh 510 tuners on this guitar are so smooth that I gave it a try without a net.
Please visit danschwartz.net for more info.
Thanks for listening, sharing and subscribing!

One of my favorite fingerstyle songs. I purchased the transcription from you many years ago and one of my kids tore it up when I wasn’t paying attention. You sent another copy and I finally learned it- so satisfying to play and a great transcription to boot. No doubt in the class of a Stropes for quality.

I have always wondered how it is possible for an architect of music to touch such deep fibers in the soul of others and manage to capture his music on others and make it a part of his life. BTW, I have always believed that you are a musician of a high level. regards

Pure. Seems simple but the double capo, detune/retune indicate advanced experimental technique.

It's wonderful to stumble upon this video; just wanted to listen to the piece on a whim. I've enjoyed this piece since hearing it for the the first time on the "Masters of Acoustic Guitar" compilation many years ago. One of my favorite pieces for guitar. Thanks for posting this video; it's nice to put the performer with the performance. 👍

What magical Piece, I´ve been listening to it for years! It brings back such good memories...Which is the reason I´ve been trying to transcribe it, but i just cannot make it, no matter how hard I try, I would always end up with only half of the right notes... So I was wondering if it is possible to buy a transcription? It would really make my day! Thank you in advance.

What is this weird 2 capo thing going on?
@BuckBkawk
@BuckBkawk 3 жыл бұрын
I think the capo on the 1st fret bars all 6 strings and the capo on the 4th fret bars strings 1-5, leaving the 6th string as the only one barred at the 1st fret. Not sure why he didn’t just capo the 3rd fret & be done with it. Must be he liked this key better.
