It will never be another like her and that’s a compliment. Sade music is the epitome of classic and have such an unique voice that no one has been able to duplicate thus far and happy about it. I saw Helen on stage years ago. My breath was taken away when she stepped on stage singing this song. She wore an ivory dress covered in Swarovski crystals. Her hair was simple and in a bun. Interesting thing about this song is it's basically an English group deliberately creating American-sounding music. That isn't a criticism, it's just an observation. Their original music was much more English-sounding.

@@herculesbrofister265 sampled is relying on someone else's hard work. Hitting a button instead of actually playing an instrument makes it less self-rewarding and less originality. Doesn't mean there's no great music using sampled material (there is and is wonderful, but less self investment other than making a pre-set sound puzzle).

I love how she doesn't use any vibrato, her voice is so clean. She almost sounds flat in a way, but it works so well. One of the sexiest singing voices I've ever heard. Gotta miss pure singing like this in commercial music, not over engineered and auto tuned into something it's not. Some great singers out there today, but producers sure do try to bury their voices.
