Sade was by far, I mean no comparison, the best singer I ever saw live. You could feel the music in your stomach. There were grown men crying next to me. She was absolutely breathtaking.

@@christianWilliams-pc4jn OMG can we please stop with these silly comparisons. Sade and Whitney are in two different lanes. Many many others than can keep up with Whitney and match her note to note. Lisa Fischer, Rachelle Ferrell, Phyllis Hyman, Wendy Moten, etc. etc. etc. Will I bring them up in a Whitney video, NO, because they all have their own, unique singing style. Whitney possessed an unrivaled tone, but Sade has a very beautiful one too. Let's appreciate them for what they had to offer and the fact that, sadly, talents like them will never be promoted in the business again.

Yes, Whitney had an undeniable gift, but you can't say she was better than everyone and everything. Whitney wouldn't be able to do a Sade song as good as Sade, nor can Sade do a Whitney song as good as Whitney. Like I said, two different lanes and both of them represent the very best on their respective genres. Let me also remind you that when Whitney came out, people weren't necessarily fond of her. They didn't see her as refined a gem as let's say, Aretha, Donna Summer or Shirley Bassey, to give out a few examples. Overtime, her voice matured and people embraced her talent and then IWALY came along and catapulted her status. But it wasn't always smooth road for her.

@@christianWilliams-pc4jn Sade did not a have a Clive Davis or a Mottola on her side to invest millions in marketing and image. Her band grew up mostly organically. So while 60 million may not seem like much (next to 200 million), it's still a very impressive, almost unobtainable figure for a non-mainstream artist. And yes, while I agree that she's not necessarily the best of the best live, I'm totally fine with any fan saying she's the best, because, to them, she is the best. And hey, I'd rather have someone say Sade is the best singer ever than mentioning Ariana Grande, Adele, JHud, Adam Lambert or any of the newfangled "singers" for that matter. Sade was/is very very talented, and I'd take her over anything these days!

I saw her live in Madison Square Garden in 2001. When she sang the Empire State Part, the roof came off the building! I maxed out a credit card to see her, and it was the best decision I ever made!

She’s the best. Her rise to stardom is an absolute crazy story. Herself with her most beloved original band mate made this possible. He was the sax/guitar player/arranger/song writer along with Sade. Those first two albums they created are amongst the best music you might experience in your lifetime.

If I had to pick a perfect woman this was it. My first wife almost left me because I had an obsession with her. I would listen to and talk about her just about everyday. Almost 35 years and two divorces later and I'm still madly in love with her.

Theres something about Sade that just demands so much respect, whether its her talent, her beauty or her personality, I do not know. Clearly the epitome of passion, love, and love making. This woman's talent will put anyone in the mood. Incredible voice, incredible talent behind her. I met Sade many years ago at a hotel in Jamaica, her hair was long she could wrap me up in it and you wouldn't see me. She is so unbelievably beautiful I thought I was looking at an angel.in fact she is a real life angel, she's so polite and classy. Evey move she make when she performs is beautiful. She's fully embedded in every song she sang. This woman is a masterpiece no question ask!!

When I seen her in concert in the 90's, I borrowed a neighbors binoculars to check out the stage, and OMG she was so incredibly beautiful, she looked like a Goddess from another realm.

I’m just a girl from the burbs who’s mom player her first two albums relentlessly while I sat awestruck aged 5/6 just blown away...so that’s what a woman is WOW, I’ve got some work to do!! She has never been anything less than GODDESS as far as I’m concerned and if a 5/6 year old little girl stops people from talking so she can listen...stares out the rainy window feeling deep feels which she couldn’t articulate until puberty you know the woman is blessed with something otherworldly. As I grew up her contralto gave me faith too 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻

I will never get over this performance . The way her body moves with her singing and breathes she’s just incredible. I’ve replayed this video so many times . But more specifically replayed 2:10- 2:35 the way her voice dropped . I can not. The way this performance was shot and how they zoom in on her when she says “taller than the Empire State” it’s art . Pure art.

Never got to see her play in concert, What a loss to me. Is it a crime? She is so good at it, likely the example OF it, that should be seen. She can turn it off, turn it up, bring it back down. She can turn you on and she can leave you there. When i see her do it, i cannot look past the love that is from God. My belief includes healing through her for those who have gone without knowing, whom God does sometimes allow to return.

@Paul Carr You have to keep in mind that Sade is the name of the band and as she has stated, she is not a solo artist like the mainstream female crap.. This is an entire band that have been together since the early 80´s (She, the guitar/sax player and the bass player..)
