I know they need to feed 18 in total or 20 with the sub-adult, correct?

@@annfisher8256 they have got a Buffalo 3 days ago in buffelshoek so they were not super hungry or even in hunt mode, that buff just walk into them... And the cubs maybe interfere a little. Plus- that buff fight for his life and fight very well, that was not a calf that was a beast buff.

They had a buffalo kill 2,3 days ago, they where not that hungry, i mean they didnt even hunt, that buffalo walk straight into them,if they where hungray, that buffalo would be dead for sure.

I think when the cubs all ran in is when the lions sort of gave it up. They can't hunt with the cubs underfoot and can't chance the cubs getting run over by a bull buffalo. I've seen other hunts on KZfaq and cubs can often mess up the hunt. The lions are used to it.

I totally agree.im a sensitive viewer I turned it off.I know they need to eat but will not watch a kill. I feel bad for the prey! Sorry that's just me!😞

@@tabithadorcas7763 they appeared with these wounds all of the sudden, it seems like it is a hunt that went wrong. They have certainly healed a lot but they are still limping which is a very sad thing because they have a territory to defend and recently 4 young intruders entered their territory. These are the northern avocas, 3 brothers, 2 of them are wounded. I hope they can heal so they can protect these little cubs

@@Maxibaluco dark mane avoca is doing a great job protecting talamati Pride and their 9 cubs and this 2 Blondie and mohawk its the same... They dont get injured cus they sleep alot or they are lazy.... What u see in safari live is just a little part of their lifes, alot happening that we just dont see and witness. U talk about 4 intruders that coming in but every week everyday there nomadic males come and go from Kruger areas into this little block.

@@karenbartlett1307 I just think she was the alpha female. The others weren't as aggressive. There was another lioness that tried to help her when she was on it's back. I read somewhere that they ate a few days ago. Maybe they weren't really so hungry. I'm sure if they were hungry it would have been a different outcome. That's just my best guess. I'm not totally sure to be honest.

@@2011ACVVV because they use them to hook and toss with not gore and can do so repeatedly. Also since they are attacked from behind they point towards attacker maybe.

Cape buffalo horns are designed to hook and puncture deep into flesh. They then use their necks to toss whatever is caught on the horns.

I’m not very impressed by the Avoca males. They are a weak coalition of lions as compared to the Birminghams, Matimbas, Majingalanes, Mapogos etc.

@@denniswise1460 They haven't had any rival males to prove their strenght. I think BB's were a pretty weak coalition despite having 5 members. To me if these Avoca heal up they will kick out anything and anyone

Yes. It's a fence around Galago camp and the lodge. It keeps elephants, buffs and hippos away, but big cats, hyena and antelopes can go inside.
