If he continues to need a pacifier as he grows, check out the adult ones. Even at this stage they may fit his mouth better and they're made more durable because they're made for people with teeth which most baby/ toddler ones aren't.

I recently found your channel and couldn't stop watching Griffin and Will in particular. I finally saw a video of Griffin at the NY neurology office and realized I saw you there once when I took my little there; I couldn't take my eyes off of him because he was so adorable. And then I heard you say Will worked as a mail delivery man and realized he delivered my mail! I love watching your kiddos and I'm especially impressed with how strong your special needs kiddos are. ❤️

These beds are great! It’s not uncommon for children with his syndrome to not sleep. Unfortunately, parents need to be able to sleep haha. This is a great way of keeping him safe and allowing mom and dad peace of mind so that they can get the rest they need as well.

Honestly I’ve seen a lot lot lot of people who don’t even realize that their kid is special, just thinking they act weird for no reason, and even the ones who do wouldn’t bother to put in this much effort. It’s obvious you’ve done your research, I believe it was gods will to have the beautiful children to created, you had so much love to give ❤❤❤

@@plasmasnow2ndaccount87yes, the change comes from the history of the term “asperger’s” and where it came from. due to negative connotations, it’s been changed in many settings.

@plasmasnow2ndaccount87 Yes, it is all classified under Autism spectrum disorder now. Aspergers is now no longer a diagnosis, and anyone who had it in the past would now be automatically included under ASD, aspergers was named after a horribly ableist and terrible nazi called hands aspergers who tortured autistic people. If I remember correctly that is also the origin of the terms high functioning and low functioning, which also shouldn't be used anymore. The most modern and accepted term I know as a replacement are additional needs to replace low functioning, since low functioning is just overall a horrible term with the origin and implications

We bought our son a twin safety sleeper when he was 2 and just last year got him a full size so he has more room when he stims at night. He is almost 7 now. His twin bed we still use at our beach house.

Even when the Drs said she only had a 2% chance of survival, because she had a tramatic brain injury and a host of other medical conditions. You have given me not only knowledge but also great tips and tricks that might help. I should also mention the Drs were wrong with them also telling us she will have a very very short time with us. Jennifer Kember had other ideas on that one....and I'm so so proud off all she has accomplished and she has reach a huge milestone of turing 18yrs old and. That bed is AMAZING!!! I’m so grateful they r coming out with the stuff our babies need. Ik I’ve gotten a lot of backlash bc my son needs sensory toys to sleep at night. Of course I get defensive which is not ok. But if 5 toys can help him have a good nights sleep then it’s my call not his. His animals r also his babies. Can’t tell u how many and best believe everyone is named!! You look in his bed, and of course he is stacked up with his babies And some nights he needs a couple extra sensory toys depending on his day. If it’s been a really high stress day…. Then his little fingers don’t stop moving and instead of him picking his lip or sides of fingers he can click some buttons on his fidget. Or pull or twist one. Whatever helps my baby is a win for me. This bed is just freaking awesome!!!!

For everyone worried about the pacifier, please remember that the rules for disabled children are a little different. Guidelines used for typical children go out the window because a lot of them don’t account for things disabled children go through. It’s true that pacifiers can cause dental issues, but that’s honestly the least of a parent’s worries when they have a medically complex/severely disabled child. Parents often have to pick the lesser destructive of two unideals, and many opt to let their disabled child use a pacifier for longer because the potential risks are less than if their child decided to self sooth by doing something like pulling out their hair, or banging their head against a wall. This is especially true for disabled kids who may not be able to understand or respond to redirection. It’s also important to keep in mind that these kids have huge care teams that are helping the parents to make these decisions. Parents often make these deviations to safe practice under medical guidance, and the child has many doctors/therapists/etc keeping an eye on their development.

I want to emphasize on this. I only got diagnosed at an adult age and my parents mistook my sensory seeking for insatiable hunger for input not realizing that i cant regulate this at all which ended up with me being burnt out super quickly from multitasking all the time and not realizing that im completely overdoing it. Now i have a little sensory deprivation corner under my bed and i learned to recognize and regulate it. 😊

I agree with everyone saying to try the adult pacifiers if Griffin continues to need one. I use one to keep me from grinding my teeth or sucking my thumb in my sleep. Etsy has a lot of really good options you can even pair it with characters Griffin likes if he has a favorite cartoon character or theme. I am on the smaller side at only four foot eight, and my mouth not being that big either and they fit well even at my size. The nipples are pretty sturdy though you can buy more easily online to easily switch out the nipple's if one is chewed through.
