Safety First: seatbelts in Megan’s 53 Belair

4 жыл бұрынEveryone knows that your average straight 6, 3 on the tree classic hot rod isn’t fast... but you never know what the person beside you or meeting you is doing. Therefore you have to be 10 steps ahead. Sometimes paying attention isn’t enough. With that being said, in today’s society, seatbelts are a MUST!! So in today’s episode, I am adding seatbelts to Megan’s 1953 Belair. Check out the walk around and let me know what y’all think!

One thing i cant help but mention is you should have used thick heavy backing plates on the underside. Hopefully it never happens but if youd get in any accident those washers they supplied will either fold up or they will rip a hole in the floor. Anytime i add belts or even when i upgraded the lap belt to 3 point in my 66 c10 i used 3"x3"x1/4" thick plates on all anchor points.

As of right now my plan is to use Sweet Patinas Patina Sauce. It’s supposed to help shed water and preserve the surface of the car. So that’s my goal. And thank you. I love this car!!

Thank you! Yes sir. They’re just a seat cover off Amazon or eBay. I ordered a hog ring kit and made it the real deal lol

What was done to get the front end down so low ?

I bought the car sitting like this, but I believe it has drop spindles, slightly cut springs, and from what I understand, he “Z”d the control arm to allow more drop.

I think that’s a fair price! This was just a little more but was running, driving, and completely rust free.
