@@DenisioDBWrong. If the writers quit and the actors don't show up then the business eats itself from the inside out. We're talking about a paycut he wouldn't even notice to compensate for writers and actors who keep the business afloat.
@Sweet_Karma
@Sweet_Karma Жыл бұрын
@DenisioDB You can't be that dense. We're talking about Bob Iger because of his comments, so I used his salary as an example. I can't believe I have to spell this out for you, but every executive that earns unjustified, obscene amounts of money should have their salaries reviewed and slashed. And they should work out a deal that favours the writers and actors. Without them, television and film ceases to exist. That's the bottom line, no arguing with that.

US. policymakers need to to step in with legislation and antitrust laws to break up the consolidation of streamers, networks, studios, distributors, producers and cinemas and demand that all studios and networks give indepedent producers 25% ownership of content and incentivising, ongoing IP rights as in the UK. Right now, content is worth nothing if it is only reflected in shareholder value and if true reporting of viewer numbers is not required of streamers.

I can see both sides point of view. Perhaps, CEOs, should receive a lower salary that may change the imbalances. Yet, the 1% of actors who demand $20M a picture may corrupt an indie production company if the picture flops. There is a larger conversation to be considered. Let’s work towards a more equitable future where all parties can thrive.

These strikers/actors are so withdrawn from reality/In their own world. If they want to be taken seriously and they're so intelligent...Then plan a better time to strike. If you are truly concerned; take a step back and take in what is happening to the/our environment. (nationally & globally) Who cares about your concerns now. The elite lifestyle of the A list actors is extremely high. Here's an idea. Use your fan base/s to attract attention to why We should be very concerned about these multiple disasters happening at a avalanching rate. From my experience/conversations; no one really cares about the actors/production concerns, at least, not now.

I think you're assuming that the majority of these actors are high-paid. The strike is mainly for the background actors who do not have fanbases. These actors sometimes commit a whole day to a job and get checks for less than $1. There were some videos of these actors showing just how little they make. I was honestly appalled as I thought minimum wage was something companies had to abide by. Clearly, I was wrong.
