The 81-year-old actress, director and singer was presented with her honor by Jennifer Aniston, who praised her as an inspiration and an icon. Bradley Cooper also made a special appearance before Barbra accepted the award. The actor directed the remake of 'A Star Is Born,' the movie Barbra starred in early in her career. The 30th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards streamed live on Netflix.

What she does with her voice at approx 3:00-4:00 on the "Somewhere" track is otherworldly, extraordinary. It gives my whole body electricity, it gives me life. Thank you, Barbra, for all your talent, energy and love you have given the millions and millions of us over the past six decades of your career and now well into your 7th - and congratulations on your SAG Life Achievement Award, well-timed in the year of your favorite number, 24. I absolutely LOVE Barbra! Ever since I was young and watched Funny Girl over and over again just to hear the music -the Love story-the magic of the whole movie-an then again with A Star is Born-and The Way we Were-you could feel it on screen-the Love that they felt- her music makes me cry and smile-just finished reading her (big heavy) book! I feel sad that I finished it cause I want to come home every night and read more/just like when she wrote the lyrics to the song-I Don’t want to Miss a Thing-she is a powerful enigma with ALL of her many talents and I am so very happy for her and Jim ! Well deserved award for Barbra! ❤️🌟

The manager of a rehearsal studio in New York/Manhattan, told me Barbra used to rent rooms there and always got the cheapest room for an hour which was like $5.00 an hour. I was auditioning actors.

Both these presenters weren’t real fans. They mispronounced her name. Bradley Cooper looked like he was preparing for a Tootsie or Mrs Doubtfire sequel and I don’t understand why Redford didn’t present her with the award or Dustin Hoffman or Jeff Bridges or someone of her stature.

Jennifer has had a lifelong connection with Barbra, and even did a photoshoot for Harpers Bizarre magazine about 10 years ago, where she dressed as and paid an homage to some of Barbra's most iconic looks in film. Unfortunately, many of Barbra's closest who worked with her are no longer here... just glad Barbra got to appreciate and personally hold this award in her own hands while she still is.

"Awards, record sales, selling out concert tickets, popularity and chart positions does not make you a Legend or even a Icon. It just symbolizes a certain point in time of popularity which does not last forever." Barbra, like Elvis and The Beatles, are legendary whose popularity in pop culture will last forever.
