Thank you for sharing this interesting technique. What is the liquid colorant that you poured over your vessel in the beginning of the video? Could you put one of your “ foil saggar vessels” into an electric kiln or must you have a reduction environment? Have you ever tried this with a barrel/garbage can firing? Finally, what is the Fahrenheit range of your firings? Thanks so much for your time! How I would love to take a workshop with you!

It is Ferric chloride. i wouldn't put ferric in an electric kiln it is very corrosive. I use a barrel and wood fire them at home.

Did you put terra sig, burnish and bisque fire your vessel before you began this process? Thanks so much for sharing!

No terra sig. just burnished on the wheel using a hard rib or a polished stone.

Really enjoyed watching your clips Anthony, thank you. Your results are fabulous!! Just a quick question if you don't mind, I just tried a saggar firing and my pots look mostly white, I added salt, copper carbonate and sulphate with a few wood shavings, the foil came away in places, could That be the reason? I bisque fired them to a 1000c.

Ferric chloride is the most reliable colorant. Without it you can try steel wool, corn husks, banana skins and seaweed. You should bisque pots for saggars to cone 010 about 1650 F so they will absorb better. Good luck. and thanks for visiting my KZfaq page.

@@rollinsceramicarts6800 Thanks for your reply Anthony, I didn't want the Ferric chloride affect, I was trying to get similar results to the pots in my ninth from last clip, I can't figure what I did different, will keep trying.thanks again.
