We’re just showing hardware used to hang gutters. There is a lot wrong with this house. In this video we are putting the gutter back where it was previously. (Not originally done by me). I am aware this is the wrong way to hang gutters. It is on the list of projects for this house. Subscribe and follow us to see our progress around the house!

Great question! The gutters were previously installed wrong. The point of the video is just to show the hidden gutter hanger. All of the gutters on this house were done wrong and I need to replace them and the Facia.

The gutter is supposed to be installed under the drip edge and hangers go through both, drip and gutter

Agreed, the whole Facia is shot. I’m going to replace everything eventually. I don’t want to possibly make it worse right now though.

Our house is a 1927. Our gutters are olden need to be replaced but we decided to take a trip to Scotland so yeah we’re gonna just make a new MacGyver what we have.

No they don't. Gutter and bracket under drip edge bend the drip edge outwards. Slip the gutter under. Screw down. Bend the drip edge back so it's slightly dangling over the gutter brackets.

Gutter nails are not used anymore, you can still get them but this is what everyone uses now a days they don't back out over time since its a screw and not a nail. The only handyman special I see in this video is the gutter not under the drip edge

Dan roof inspector I would have had you put silicone over that hole that was left there from the screw coming out and it don't hurt for a little silicone on the screw for it goes into the wall

I’m having some bigger issues. The wood under the roof is rotted due to the screws being loose and exposing the fascia

If the wood is too rotted out replace it soon. If you need a cheap fox for now, you can buy roof leak caulk for temporary fixes. Any major home store

Terrible example of how to do hidden hangers. Gutter goes under the flashing and don’t clip the hanger. These Home Depot guys I tell you. But hey you keep me in business.
