Great Video as always. The Pilots Federation should reprogram their medium landing pads to allow a Type 7, but lock it out of the Hanger. This way truckers can trade with outposts and refuel but not access some services such as outfitting.

I made a billion credits doing passenger missions in my Type-7 😎 I love the look as well. It has that odd sci fi vibe

indeed a love letter to an overlooked ship. I still love the shape of the Type-7. This video is again well done.

I truly overlooked the T7 in favour of my Python or the Type-9. "It can't land on medium pads and can't carry as much as the T9. What's the point of it?". I was truly surprised when I bought one. The manoeuvrability on it is bizarrely good for a ship of its size. And after fitting and engineering, I can carry over 200 Tons of cargo with a 40 LY jump range and full explorer loadout, while remaining super cold at a base 16% heat. I love my Type-7 and should have gotten one sooner.

Great review, but you missed a role that the Type 7 excels in: Station Rescue operations. The Type 7 is a fantastic rescue ship: it arguably outperforms the Python, able to carry 128 passengers, plus 32 tons of cargo and 4 active limpets, without sacrificing shields entirely. It's smaller and more maneuverable than the larger options, making it easy to get in and out of burning stations. And it's affordable to buy and equip, and leave in the garage until you need it.

I fucking HATED how this ship looked when i first saw it, wondering why such a thing was made... It wasn't until i realised I could use it to propel my temporary Space Trucking career a bit further seeing that i was running with a ASPX at the time and flying it around a bit the look grew on me... It made me my first 100 million credits, something i will never forget, doing well planned and orchestrated courier and delivery missions... In short you never know for sure when something you dislike could leave a positive imprint on your life experiences... 07 cmdrs...

Was wondering why escaping interdictions felt easier when I upgraded to a type 7. Loved mine for as long as it lasted. Ended up loosing an argument over physics with the interior bulkhead of a station.

As long as you do use it in solo so you not waiting on a large pad to free up, I like using my T7 for station rescues. Those yaw thrusters seem to come in handy when shit next to you starts exploding and trying to knock you around.

How have I only just seen this. I love the T7 :) It would rock if it could fit on a medium pad though.

The main issue comes from limited cargo space. When you do cargo, the more you carry, the better. So once you can buy something that can carry more, you leave the type 7 behind. I have never flown it myself.

I would love to use one for exploration, but I tried recently, and even all A-rated, it STILL had heat management problems, so you'll have to engineer it for thermal spread.

I used to have a T7. It was a good option for hauling missions when i was just starting in Elite, but i got myself a T9 and just have no use for it anymore

Truckers don't care about esthetics? Google "truck show" or "chrome shop". No other ship does what it does at near the same price? My Clipper says otherwise. Even with a fuel scoop and the flight assist modules I can carry 220 tons. Better hardpoints, much faster, and more agile. Yes, it would cost more to fully A-rate. But it doesn't need to be, except for thrusters and FSD.
