Hi , I want to say thank you for your very informative information about the Saguaro cactus. I am an elementary school art teacher and I am showing your video in my classroom to all of my 700 art students . Your information is brief, right to the point and jam packed with information. I only have 45 minutes to teach my students, so your short and informative video is perfect. Thank you so much !

Thanks I have other videos as well from national parks but they are a bit more complex - like Mt St. Helens recovery. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h-B3pNpjx8nNmWw.html

I'm currently camping at some blm land in Arizona and I parked right in between two of these HUGE saguaro cactuses. They're at least 30 ft tall. So majestic.

I understand that it’s illegal to have this cactus at your home property right? Or ship seed to another country …it huge and interesting to have one
@MsRScienceClassK122 жыл бұрын
Yes, illegal to transport. They take 100+ years to grow.

My saguaro has brown wooden looking callus , I think is something wrong but I can identify the problem. How can I send u a pic so u check it out ?
@MsRScienceClassK12 Жыл бұрын
The callus is probably a result of an injury, just like people have scabs and scars on their skin.
@nobullfake1169 Жыл бұрын
No that one isn’t an injury, I wish KZfaq let people send pics

It's actually quite common in Arizona, especially in the Sonoran Desert

They take a more than 100 years to grow. As more and more people use the desert, they destroy the cactus. They are becoming rarer.

I always wonder why it is pronounced SAWARRO and not just its actual name SA-GUA-RO give emphasis in the actual pronunciation of the letter G
@anaxagorasofclazomenae74903 жыл бұрын
The name is of Mexican Spanish origin. In the Spanish language, the letter G is often pronounced like the English H. Hence, "Saguaro" would be pronounced as "Sa-Hua-Ro" or when spoken quickly, "Sa-WA-ro."
@jodyhakala-ristow70142 жыл бұрын
@@anaxagorasofclazomenae7490 oh thanks for letting us know that.
@camthesaxman3387 Жыл бұрын
No, it's pronounced a hard G, just like you'd expect saguaro to be pronounced. It's only pronounced like a H before an I or E vowel.
@risenfromyoutubesashesagai630210 ай бұрын
@@camthesaxman3387No, it's actually pronounced with a soft J sound, with undertones of a hard 5 sound.
