I started taking sight reading very seriously because I was about to begin piano lessons and I wanted to be somewhat familiar with the basics. Except all the useful stuff like notes, semantics, etc., I began to watch Saher's videos about rhythm every single day until my lessons would start (this while was for about a month). I applied this knowledge building my own examples, too. My teacher told me it's unbelievavable how you grasped rhythm without proper guidance. Then I show him Galt. He told me very positive things about the tutorials, and also found the presentation extremely helpful. peace to all of you guyz and keep it up

your way is much better than others bcz after several examples, you tell us to perform first and then check with the one you perform....that's what I like about your videos....it really helps to boost the confidence and we can easily identify our mistakes....keep up the good work....!

You are an excellent teacher. Thank you.Simplifying the complex by breaking it down into smaller clearer, simpler, easier to process units is what good teaching is all about. I am going to have to work on these complex patterns, I realise. But, at least I now know how to tackle them, though I still have an aversion to the ties and silent notes, especial when the come in certain places I don't want them in because they throw my mental processing off, which is probably why composers put them there to begin with. To make sure we're all alert and on the ball. Or wake us up, if we're getting too slack and comfortable withfamiliar, predictable rhythms, like are used in simple rock or simple repetitive folk music styles. Interesting videos exploring music theory, a topic many modern musicians find too complex and theoretical and abstract to be bothered with. But it's like a tradesman with a fancy piece of machinery he wants to employ to do the job but can't or won't read the instructions first, preferring to just dive in and do it, with less than satisfactory results.

You are the man to save my Rhythm & Tempo which I've been struggling a lot. Thank you a lot!

Sahir - Thanks for your explanation of how to disassemble a rhythm into beat units to get a steady pulse, and then reassemble it all with applicable ties. I found it so much easier to get into the groove without having to count endless 1& 2& 3& 4&s.

Excellent work! One way to master these beats is to practice them at 0.75 speed, then normal, followed by 1.25 speed.
