About TVS Apache RTR 160 2V:-
TVS Motor Company has launched the 2022 Apache RTR 160 in the Indian market. The latest iteration of the motorcycle is available in three variants - Drum, Disc, and Disc with Bluetooth - and five colours Gloss Black, Pearl White, Racing Red, Matte Blue, and T-Grey.
The base model uses a drum brake setup at the rear wheel and a single-channel ABS. The mid and the top versions get disc brakes on both ends along with dual-channel ABS. The top-of-the-line version further benefits from SmartXonnect technology with the voice assist function. The prices vary depending on the variant selected.
Apart from new features, the 2022 model also gets a few styling tweaks. The styling revisions include redesigned and sharper-looking headlight and taillight. This model also gets an X-ring chain and a wider 120mm rear tyre, and is 2kg lighter than its predecessor. Meanwhile, the 2022 version retains the fuel tank, engine cowl, single-piece seat, split-style grab rail, and side-slung exhaust from the previous model. The hardware comprises telescopic front forks and twin springs to handle suspension tasks.
The feature list now comprises an LED headlight with LED DRL at the front instead of a halogen headlight on the old model. At the back, the 2022 model gets a redesigned LED taillight. Other features include a Bluetooth-enabled fully-digital instrument cluster with revised user interface, slipper clutch, dual-channel ABS, and three ride modes - Rain, Urban, and Sport.
The mechanical specifications retain the 159.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine. Linked to a five-speed gearbox, the motor now makes 15.8bhp at 8,750rpm and 13.85Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm as against 15.3bhp and 13.9Nm previously.
About TVS Apache RTR 180 2v:-
TVS has updated the Apache RTR 180 to comply with the newest emission norms. The BS6 version of the sporty commuter is available in a single variant
The latest iteration of the motorcycle retains the styling of its predecessor and thus comes equipped with a halogen headlight with LED pilot lamps, an LED taillight, semi-digital instrument cluster and a muscular design. The colour options, too, are identical to the BS4 model, and the Apache RTR 160 BS6 is available in Pearl White, Matte Blue, Gloss Black and T Grey shades.
The BS6 upgrade has added to the weight, and the 2020 model tips the weighing scale at 141kg (vs 139kg). The dimensions such as length (2,085mm), width (730mm) and height (1,105mm) remain identical to the BS4 model. The wheelbase and the ground clearance, on the other hand, are different than its predecessor. The BS6 version features a wheelbase of 1,300mm (as against 1,326mm) and a ground clearance of 170mm (as against 165mm).
The mechanical details, on the other hand, have received noticeable changes. The 177.4cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine gets a fuel injection system, and it now produces 16.5bhp of peak power at 8,500rpm and 15.5Nm of maximum torque at 7,000rpm. The company has added the Glide Through Technology (GTT) to the BS6 iteration of the motorcycle. The GTT system aims to eliminate engine stalling.
Hardware specifications continue to include telescopic forks at the front and gas-filled twin springs at the back to handle the shock absorption duties. Stopping power comes from a 270mm petal-type disc at the front and a 200mm petal-type rotor at the back. The safety net of single-channel ABS comes as standard.
