Sailboat Life: A Windy Day and Watermaker Woes - Ep 22

3 жыл бұрын

We've been in George Town for the past week and not every single day is super exciting. Sometimes the weather makes it a little unfavourable to be out in the water and it gets a bit too murky to snorkel.
We wanted to share what a typical day looks like aboard Jibsea when we're not sailing and when we're not out exploring. Run some errands, bake, tinker with our friends' broken watermaker and bake some more! Like living on land, it's not always eventful, but we hope you enjoy a glimpse into our typical day anyhow!
PIZZA DOUGH RECIPE
Yields 1 12" Pizza Crust
INGREDIENTS
- 1 package of rapid rise instant yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
- 1 tsp white sugar
- 1 cup of warm water (110 degrees F)
- 2 1/2 cups bread flour
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. In a medium bowl, mix yeast, sugar, flour, oil and salt. Stir in warm water and mix until smooth.
2. Gently knead for a few minutes until dough feels smooth and elastic. Let rest for 10 minutes.
3. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and pat/roll into a round. Transfer crust to a lightly greased pizza pan
4. Spread with desired toppings and bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown

Nice! ... Question please... I just yesterday went to see a water damaged Passage 42 on the hard, like yours! This one is 1991. Where is the dip stick to the engine??!! I looked and looked! Water had come just an inch or 2 over the lower engine pulley. Not sure how long the water was there, but a fair amount of rust and most cabinet doors and other wood needs refinishing and some of the floor is rotten, but other than that, it looks nice. Oh... A small amount of soft decking up front. But... I removed the entry ladder and looked everywhere and could not see a dip stick. uggg...... Your Passage 42 looks great.
@SailingJibsea
@SailingJibsea 3 жыл бұрын
Hey! See the link I sent below. On pg.1-1 you’ll see where the dipstick is at, It should also help you with any other motor Questions. Hope it works out for you. Feel free to ask me any other questions if you want. www.sextan.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Yanmar4JHE.pdf

@@SailingJibsea Thank you! woW. On the 1991 I am thinking to buy, there is NO access to that side of the engine. There is access to the front and port side opposite the chart table. But that side is blocked by the fridge. The generator is above so no access from the top. I guess, a person has to get good at reaching around and over the top of the engine feeling around for it. Uggg. All the cushions are gone in this boat, and woodwork needs repaired... but it is all doable. Watching you sail yours made it all look more real. I looked at your link. Very good. If I buy... I think to make a modification with the dip stick on the chart table side. :)
