I'm 71 and have always loved this song - but as I will be sailing soon for heaven or the other place it is a comfort for my impending journey

I'm 68...looks like I'll be sailing up to heaven soon to be with Jesus...life on this earth went by like a summers night dream... good times and bad times...it's okay to cry...and I do.. sometimes...

This was the song my father used to sing to me when i was still in my mother's womb. Now i'm 22 years old, my father's still singing this song to me.

It was Oct 2nd 2018 and my father had been in the hospital for about a week after flatlining and losing oxygen to his brain. That night my mom had decided to spend the night in the hospital with my dad and asked if I can take her car to her house. It was during this drive, this song came on, and I was balling. This was one of my father’s favorite songs - and it was at that very moment, I knew he was talking to me through the music. I knew that night, my dad wouldn’t be coming back to us. I cried so much the entire drive to my mom’s. Just 2 short days later on October 4th 2018 at 10:10PM, he was gone. I’ll always treasure that moment I had with this song.

I was just a young 20 yr, old Marine stationed in the Phillipines, when this came out, I bought the cassette and played it over and over..Missed my fiance and friends and home, couldnt wait to get back to the world...we called it..didnt have cell phones or computers back then... old school letters..I smile cuz this takes me right back..

Yesterday, driving home from a very bad day this song came on the radio. Been 25 years since I heard it last. I remembered how much I loved it as a kid. Instantly I relaxed and my sadness was washed away, for a bit. Music can do miracles. It can make you feel happy or sad but it always makes you feel!

Amazing song..i feel emotional every time i hear this i don't know, maybe it's because we are aging and the more we get old the more we realize the value of everything in this world.

Thanks Chris for stirring up emotions from the past😌🥲.I’m 68 now and that jolts my precious memories when my dad would take us to the Santa Monica Pier and stay all day at the beach. Mom would bring deviled eggs and bologna sandwiches with koolaide for us. I miss my mom, dad, and my 3 brothers. They all sailed away up to paradise. Only my sister and I are left now. Our favorite place was Pacific Ocean Park, Cali. Back in the day before they closed that amusement park. Treasure each day with your family and try to take them to the park, the zoo, the beach, the lake, and museums. I hope they play this song when I’m dying so I can go in peace and sail away!

I was a Silicon Crystal Grower Operator.I was a lone Hispanic from Texas_ who was working alongside a team made up of Filipinos who had migrated to California looking for a better life. I really enjoyed their comarade working relationship. Salamat my friends where ever you guys are. And also Ms Rowena Larion rocks!

For years I've overlooked this song. Now at 46, I'm enjoying those songs more and more.

This song was out the summer of 1980 when my two friends and I went from Wisconsin to California on a vacation. We took a boat ride out to Anacapa Island which was such a beautiful place. I remember all the gorgeous views and pretty wild flowers as well as the sea lions on the shore. This song always reminds me of that wonderful adventure. To this day if I hear this song on a cold winter day, I close my eyes and dream of sailing away to Anacapa Island. Ahhh, good memories!

This song reminds me of my twin. (We are fraternal) He passed and today it played when I was really struggling. It’s three days before the anniversary and I’m moving away from a really toxic environment finally and this played in the heat of it all. I know it’s my twin. It took me back to riding in our old station wagon with my siblings to Zuma beach. It was our favorite place to go in the summer. Brought me back to that clear lovely moment of riding in the way way back with my twin. 💕🎶
