Love the concept, and simplicity. Fast cruising means extending the range from your mooring, and on the trailer even extend it further. Not much heeling sees the family happier and makes moving around easy. Big trampolines are excellent sun loungers on anchor. And I fully subscribe to the single handed experience! Not depending on crew = more days you actually use the boat. Have sailed on a Dragonfly 25 before, but got the slightly bigger DF28 for a few years now. I admit I like some creature comfort, such as pressurized water, 2 flame hob, gas heating (essential for sailing in Norway), and for weekends with the family, a separate toilet closed off with a door. Personally I prefer the DF Swingwing System (over the Corsair’s flipping up and under), folding the outriggers without any tools and keeping them level just about when approaching my home harbour with a 3.50m wide berth. But, admittedly, all this adds cost! And DF prices are stiff - you can get a much bigger boat for the same money. It really depends what you want - I made my choice and am happy!

Thanks for your informed comments Stafan! Yes the DF's are very nice boats...these are all highly engineered boats to make things simple to operate. As a 28 owner you should really check out the new Corsair 880 as it has pressurized water, heating / air conditioning, separate toilet etc and can still be towed and much more cost effective...you will at least appreciate the design i'm sure. just launched recently. we will be doing a review soon so stay tuned!

Great video Brent there are many advantages to sailing a trailer sailer and it would be impossible to list them all in a short video but I believe that you have done well getting out the philosophical points of solo adventure sailing. I'm just so glad I discovered this at a young age and have had many years and many holidays engaging in such a wonderful activity.

Thanks Philbo...people have forgotten about the benefits of a trailer sailer and the nimble benefits they offer, particularly for a solo sailor. great to hear of your experiences!

that music is pretty bad. nice boat though, and I'm not even a fan of multi-hulls! but, I love the compact/trailerability (is that a word?).

Hi. Did I hear you say an alcohol stove? I'm struggling to find an alcohol stove to replace a Maxie stove that is no longer made. I'm curious of what you have used and where to source. Hope you can help. Nice boat as well.

pretty similar concept as the dragonfly's by quorning, isn't it?
@MultihullCentral1
@MultihullCentral1 4 жыл бұрын
Yes quite similar. The Dragonflys have a different folding set up and layout and the end up being much more expensive, but similar goals and experiences on the water. Also a very fun boat.

amazing it took so long to make a boat like these ... versatile and efficient ... need to sail from a to b efficiently and low l winds , good weather ... trolling motor or 2 might even move it instead of motor . funny it took this many year to up grade simple sailing canoe .. i am nobody and i thought of this in few weeks ... how come they don't put pontoons on saying canoe .. list;e bigger for cock pit and water protection . lol. pretty cool. looks awesome ...
