Exactly. Farmers, the vast majority of chinese, had no land and were at the mercy of then authorities. He was the person that truly solved the problem that had plagued the Chinese cultivators for thousands of years and also solved the insane inflation caused by KMT. Cant agree with all his decisions but its hard to not respect him once actually delve into it

Yo, also Soviet architecture was beautiful AND functional, you just saw a gross looking apartment building on some dumb article one time and decided that's what all Soviet architecture looked like. It's a lot better than American architecture I'll tell you that.

@@unatco6554 I think you're being incredibly reductive of Soviet architecture. The Soviet Union was one of the most diverse countries on Earth, and the architecture was pretty variable. There's the Georgia-Russia friendship monument, the pyramid of Tirana, Moscow state uni and other stalinist era high rises etc. And I guess taste is subjective. Anyway, the reason artists are typically more left leaning has nothing to do with modernity and everything to do with creativity being antithetical to right wing ideology such as conservatism. That's why Hitler banned "degenerate" art. Because the right wing mind only wants to process what they already understand. New ideas are ScArY! Right wing art sucks because the right can only borrow from and steal from genuine culture. Have you noticed that right wing art is always a reproduction? There's nothing wrong with traditionalism or templates or recognition or reproduction. Sometimes it's to pay an homage. Sometimes reproductions exist to expand upon something already built. But would you rather see the doors or a cover band of the doors? Even right wingers typically choose left leaning art. Martin Skrelli is a wu Tang fan. But right wingers constantly co opt anything they can because they hate the freedom self expression brings people.

Also there's a reason so many Soviet era houses and apartments are still there: they were built pretty fucking well. I live in America and all the housing here sucks.
