Sailing the brittish islands, we just say wow!!This week we leave the cold and grey weather and sail to PARADISE. And finally we have bikini weather sailing! Me? Sailing a Comfort 32 and enjoying life. Leaving home port in 2021 I started my KZfaq sailing channel. Join me and my small budget sailboat with a big passionate dream to sail away, enjoy every moment and share it with others.
I hope you appreciate my sailing channel, sailing adventure and the sailing life I share on KZfaq. If you do - please subscribe and give it a big thumbs up, that is really helpful! I'm trying to make the best sailing channel I can, not just showing beautiful places, but also tell about them and show the general boatlife!

I used to live on St Martin's up till 1986 and then moved to Porthcawl South Wales because I couldn't find anywhere to live on the island. Most houses for sale were sold to holiday makers at prices well out of my partner's and my reach . I had to leave and my then girlfriend stayed with her father. It was a sad time leaving but I had little choice. Every time I see the island on KZfaq it brings back memories. I'm happily married now but only wish I could go back in time and make things different. Best of luck on your journey.

Your English is much better than my Swedish so please forgive my correction, but there is only one T in British!

I'm biased but I love the Scilly Isles - particularly if seen through the eyes of someone justifiably sceptical! Many thanks. Fowey, Newlyn, Penzance, the Scilly Isles are all beautiful from the point of view of someone living in a busier, more populated, industrial, colder, wetter, less sunny part of Great Britain. And they don't - or extremely rarely - get frosts! OK, I'm not sure what the attraction is.

Killer content this week. Love the digny desisnator of Tilbert. I was saddened by your lost prop. Is there going to be enough water to canal through France or is Gilbrater in your future? Keep on sailing dudes.☝️🖖👍👍👍👌

Look! Everything goes well, just like I said to you! This black ball-thing used in anchor, I don't know why it is not used in Sweden, but you get some motivation practices if you forgot hoist it in Finland. Finnish coast guard or police may give you paper with very good instruction how to practice your memory, just pay some 80-120 euro and your memory get better. Instantly. I guess that it is same in UK too. I suppose that people recognize if boat is anchored or not in Sweden, so you don't need that kind of signs. Some people used to sail and use motor in same time (yes, I know, just Finns behave like this), in this case you should hoist black triangle. Other vessels know that according rules of avoiding collision etc. you are NOT sailing vessel but motor yacht.

Oh, that expensive!! I've never heard of anyone getting a fine in Sweden si tjat might be why. Also we often anchour tied up to a rock so might be why many people don't even have them..

@@sailingtilda If you tied your boat from bow to rocks and anchor is just keeping your boat away from rocks of beach etc. (very scandinavian way, vikings have no proper anchors but wooden things with big rocks) , you are not technically anchoring. So you don't need anchoring ball. If the bow of the boat is attached to the shore (with ropes), no one will think that the boat is moving in a certain direction and the boat attached to the shore will not be easily bumped into, just as you can bump into a boat anchored in the middle of ( the loveliest and sweetest) bay with no light in the dark. If the boat stays in place only on the anchor and turns with the wind here and there, then you have to use an anchor ball and an anchor light in the dark. As a solo sailor myself, most of the time I don't try to catch the boat on the shore rocks in natural harbors, as nice as it would be to walk around the islands.
