The real big cacti are saguaros, only found in the Sonoran Desert which extends from Baja all the way to Southern Arizona in the US. The branch-y cacti are teddy bear cholla, despite the name do not cuddle.

I think all of you sailors need to branch out with fish and food. Clams on the beach. Shrimp in some places, you need the right type of small net to throw off the dingy or even right off the boat. When you see a bunch of birds and possibly fish jumping they may have found shrimp ? A lady named Kelly actually shows you how , on her channel, to get them. I think just searching Kelly and Fishing and you'll find her. Ask her what else you could find and how to do it , she's really good. Let me know if you can't find her. Really amazing you have all of those sails to play with. Have you found any aluminum poles on board ?

This sure must be a change of scenery for you with all that lush foliage in the past years. I had this oddest thought it would be a terrible vacation place if you had to leave. There’s no evidence now of the Balandra Rock that used to be there that someone tore down about 10 or 15 years ago. It was the center piece of the bay, being this massive rock that was balanced on a tiny point. The whole structure was about 20 feet tall and was the destination of everyone who went there. It must have taken quite a concerted effort to get it to come down and everyone on the peninsula was really bummed that some jerk/jerks took it down. Anyway, on a different note, if you want to catch fish trolling, you’ll have to get up before dawn and follow the coast line close to the beach and you’ll be surprised at how well you do. My very favorite was Sierra Mackerel (Spanish mackerel)… you’ll love them. Also jacks and rooster fish. Good luck!
