Everytime I get to see the video 1min after it being uploaded its like opening gifts as a kid. It feels super special

Maybe all will become clearer but I cannot see how a catamaran, with less proper living space for a crew member or nanny and safe deck space for the children to play, is better for a growing family than the double hull. It may be a great boat but maybe not a great home. I hope I am wrong because I love following this amazingly likeable, charismatic family on their adventures.

This channel excels on the sea. Sailing is why most of us come along. Your plan to sail the 40 and 50 ft rigs is a great one and very interesting to us sailors and land lubbers alike. Excellent episode folks!

For children growing up in what could be called cramped conditions, their behaviour overall is a testament to you guys and the nanny. Good job! hope my kids are as happy as yours seem to be. (i know they must have their moments but dont we all!)

My son lives in Thailand near Phuket…we are from Annapolis Maryland…. I was there a few years ago it’s a very beautiful country and the oceans are amazing… I went snorkeling and it was magnificent… enjoy your time there, your kiddos are really growing fast.. and are adorable… stay safe and keep the videos coming

Great to see you guys back sailing. One question that comes to mind is, how do you feel not having the huge covered area out the back like you had on La Vagabond. I feel that was such a great area for the kids to play and also a great place to enter and exit the boat from. I am a huge fan of your show, and I loved La Vagabond, but I’m just not sure if the new boat is going to be as family friendly and comfortable to live aboard as La Vagabond. I understand that it is a much faster vessel and that’s the reason you changed, so I hope at the end of the day, especially for the boys sake, that it is as good quality living for them as La Vagabond was.

So good to see you all back where you belong. This episode was like watering four neglected plants and watching them burst into bloom.

Mate, most modern 40ft monohulls have FAR more space onboard than this Rapido. They will have a V-berth cabin, a larger queens bed sized cabin plus two on-passage single berths. Most will have 2 heads, decent sized galley, nav station, plus a much larger saloon than the Rapido. All in all the 40ft Rapido pails into insignificance compared to contemporary monohulls so I really disagree with most of your comments regarding space. Plus a new 60ft monohull will have at least double the space of your new 60ft Rapido.

It’ll be interesting - even on a bigger tri - to figure out the space outside (deck) for two kids to roam and play, while being safe. What’s the longest time frame would the kids be ok on the boat without cabin fever? “It’s not bouncy…”

Yay back to sailing! I’d be lyin’ if I said I didn’t miss you all sailing the Seven Seas! Factory tours, rental houses, new scooters, exploring Bali are all interesting in their own way but it’s the sailing adventures for me!

I think the big takeaway here is the toilet seat doesn't get wet on the 40. Nailed it, onto the 50ft! Lenny 🤣 "Why....?" but... "Why...?" Great age!

I really like how you guys were presented with this unique chance to sail a 40 and - soon to be - a 50. Its like learning to walk before you run. I enjoyed your 40 experience and Im looking forward to your 50 experience. It would be incredible if you get to try a 60, like yours, but that opportunity may not present itself. But the 40 and 50 experience is priceless. One comment. I would talk to the Rapido folks about the noise you experienced from the ropes. I can tell you that it may feel minor right now, but in a very short time, it will no longer be a minor concern. That would drive me nuts!

Most of our adult life was based on weekend and vacation sailing in the Great Northwest. My wife still comments that she slept best while we were quietly rocking at anchor in a safe bay.

I use surf mud! Ha ha I got excited when you did that part ! I actually use it as foundation every single day. ! Just thought I’d add that I only use a thin layer so it doesn’t feel like mud on your face but it still protects 😊

Another very entertaining sailing video, as well as informative. 21st Century sailboats seem to almost sail themselves with many of the creature comforts of home, including advanced safety features. I love it all, especially when sailing with your family. I sure wish I had all the bells and whistles on the schooner I was decking on during the 1970's, that the Rapidio has. Loved hearing Elaina’s comments about how comfortable this 40 is for a family of 4. So happy for you! Your 60 will be fantastic for your growing family.

Still think they are going to miss the space of a catamaran. 60' and only 2 staterooms is small. They have to house themselves, 2 kids and a crew member. Where is everyone going to sleep? They probably will make the aft cabin into a bunk bed plus 1 but that will get crowded.

That's amazing sailing performance, wow! So cool to pull 8 knots, in 9 knots with flat seas and boat! Must be a bit of a challenge going from ship to shore, to flying to boating on different boats in different places, all with the kids in tow. Pretty sweet to get to chat with the designer, wondering how many boats Rapido will produce a year and if they will be able to keep up with orders. Was also wondering if they would license the boat design for building elsewhere(USA), I imagine they would be great for the Bahamas and cruising the Caribbean.

So relaxing, can’t wait for my boating season on the local lake to begin in June!

A suggestion. Sailors always keep viewers apprised of wind speeds and depth but nobody ever tells us what temperature they are experiencing. We never know if it’s balmy or chilly. When a squall comes, it looks cold but is it? Just a little chyron with an approximation would add so much to ours experience as viewers. 😉

Underated detail. Can we appreciate how stable Lenny's block tower is on that table while the boat is moving and tacking.

There will be a groove. Once your wind and boat get in it, look out, you will lunge forward. It's really fun. Not sure the kids will be happy with it until they have survived it a few times.
