Not lecturing, but one misstep and Willa could fall in. Never wait for that to happen before deciding on a life jacket for her. We all wear seat belts although we rarely if ever get into a serious accident! She's the most precious thing you have on board!

If she can climb out of the cockpit then it's time for toddler swimming lessons! toddler swimming lessons are mostly about drowning prevention, most kids in Australia start learning to swim from 6-12 mths.

Just let her wear a vest when she is outside until she can swim. She’ll get used to it. Ours fell overboard once in a while. Very relaxing to know they don’t sink. No nets on the railing and getting stuck in it when you don’t want it or a kid slipping under it just there were your lines run etc.

@@BirdDog. lifejackets aren't just flotation devices. They are flak jackets for people that are learning to walk on a moving platform. Kids raised on boats from birth have excellent balance for their entire lives. LJ saved my 2 boys from lots of injuries as they grew up.

The majority of all motorcycle accidents occur less than 5 minutes from home which is why I always wear a helmet no mater how short the ride. I raced sailboats in grad school and had many friends with young kids. Babies in the V-berth during a race. LIFE JACKETS with a grab handle on the back saved more than one kid that got knocked off the dock. Make a life jacket her daily attire, you wont regret it, especially the first time she goes in which will happen. I'm done preaching. You guys are great.

Your baby needs a harness and life jacket in one with sheet on your baby from the salon to some part of the cockpit so the does not fall over board at any time . Just like the thing you would do in your home with a new baby with you but you are catamaran plus netting around the a good start and great video guys

Love the videos guys. So crazy to see those streets so empty. My unsolicited advice from one parent to another: do not underestimate a toddlers ability to find danger. I hope W can't fit through the windows on the V berth for example, or hopefully you can toddler proof them latches. And yeah sorry to join the chorus but please please please, pfd's on the dinghy. One unlucky moment is all it takes.

10:34 a little touch of home... I am surprised that you leave the paddle boards tied to the stanchions, especially during high winds. They will put so much stress with the extra windage. You will want to keep an eye on the bases for cracking which of course will lead to leaks. Better to store in the back of the cockpit or tie up to the underside of the hardtop if there is room?

You scare me having Willa in the dinghy without a life jacket. When my kids were little we had a harness to be able to walk them on. Level up.! Death by whatever is now an option. They emulate the adults. Mine, obviously, as soon as he could walk, stole beer and chugged a load before we caught him and confiscated it. He survived and has since learned sarcasm. One moment of distraction and poof! They will do all kinds of unexpected stuff. (It's half the fun.) I don't think the boat is inherently more dangerous than land based life but kids are so dim they don't know not to stick forks in the electric sockets. Parenting is hard work. I'm sure the sprog will be fine. :)

Great video. Thanks. We had a Spectra WM on one boat and one similar to yours on another. They are all great. But with downpours like that you shouldn’t need a watermaker. We could fill our 220 gal tanks in on downpour. And have plenty left for laundry and baths. When we got to dry climates like the Sea of Cortez the water maker was invaluable. Good stuff. Oh my on the adorable Willa. I met a couple that had just crossed the Atlantic from S Africa. They had a baby that in mid- Atlantic sailing at 6 kts, the baby learned how to roll over and rolled right into the ocean!! The Dad kicked off the vane gear steering and said come and get us. Instantly dove over and saved baby!!! Wow!! Mom picked them both up. Keep up your skills. Again Wow. Netting? You bet.

I noted that Willa wasn’t wearing a pfd (at least not that I could see) during the dinghy ride back to Nahoa. Not being critical, I’ve boated for over 65 years, but would it not be a good idea to have one on her! Oh, now that she’s more mobile etc, what about the portlights in her cabin? Could she open one and eight get stuck or climb out? I was a little kid on our boat and I know I was always up to mischief when I wasn’t being supervised!

Babies on boats are so tricky! Do you have a puddle jumper for Willa? They're the best baby life jackets. My babies were floating independently by 16-18 months. We'd put my little brother in a harness and tether, but I wonder how one of those retractable dog leashes would work in lieu of a traditional tether that might get tangled 😆🤔

Have you seen the seat Malin & Johan rigged up for baby Vera in "Ep. 219 RAN Sailing" gives them both freedom to manage the boat when needed and Vera gets to see everything that's going on.

Been there, done that, waves so bad could not stay below being anchored. Had to be in cockpit while being pelted by the needling rain on open skin. Being in the cockpit, observed boats going aground. Some being lost to rocks, others being bashed against pilings on shore.

Thx for sharing, guys. The main party street you were on is Bangla Road-- a lot of fun. How I would have loved to have been there with u guys and bought u a beer. It's so sad to see what is happening there. I've been following the situation in Thailand since the covid outbreak. Hopefully, things will be getting better soon. The island of Phuket will start allowing vaccinated tourists without any quarantine 7/1/21. I'm hoping to get there for a month soon thereafter. Be well!!

I went to Thailand for many years pre covid, It so sad to see this, I had many party nights in Kangaroo bar, well worth the 11hr 30 min flight from London. I also miss the food, Thank you for the content, I'm very happy to see you guys back up and sailing
