The sound is so clean and different from other violins. It's less strident, and it makes me want to listen to her whole pieces. The note gets to where it is supposed to be "faster" , with less of an echo. Also is crazy how little she moves when playing.

Yes I agree!!! She moves so gracefully like she's moving around a feather or something extremely light. She makes it look so easy too when it's not 😂

her total control of the piece is utterly remarkable! I played this when I was 18 for a few college auditions...it's hard and I was proud of how I sounded, but this performance squashes me completely.

아… 영어를 너무 떨면서 하고 연주 시작할때 한시름 놓던거 너무 귀여웠는데….. 이제는 영어도 잘해버리네.. 미국에서 공부하는게 이제 정말 많이 익숙해졌나보다. 이제 천천히 들어볼게요. 기대가됩니다!!

SoHyun is a most amazing artist. Last time I heard her play she was much younger in South Korea, So happy she has relocated to Georga. What an amazing talent. The violin sings in her hands like an angel. she is a superstar.

For me its her excellent choice of pieces to play that makes her stand out. Its not obvious that Pablo de Sarasate's one of her favorites.

9:41 this interpretation is a VERY unique and well done execution to the development of the fast paced 16th notes. The slow start and exponential rate in the transition of the fast bow movement is very stunning and I have never seen this type of entrance in any other performance. A very unique and dynamic choice in technique and very well controlled in her tempo, this is AMAZING

Perhaps she is waiting on the Bach Chaconne until she feels ready for it, emotionally. She is certainly capable technically of doing it at this point, but that is such a powerfully emotional piece that you have to be ready for it. Was it Joshua Bell who remarked that it was the best piece of music ever composed?

@@drvelocio hm...it is a rather tough piece indeed, and i do think that her emotions flow beautifully out of her violin, but im no violinist, so i dont know. Hilary Hahns version is so passionate and powerful and i think that is the best interpretation of it, and the you could really feel the emotions, so yes it is rather plausible that she is waiting until she is ready

I'm not a violinist, but when I re-listen to her performance of the Sarasate Ziegeunerweisen, done when she was just 12 years old, I can't hear any mistakes, or flaws in technique. And she is a MUSICIAN. She plays with emotion, even at that age. You can see it in her face, her expressions. She's not just a child prodigy, she is a musician (to say it again, for emphasis).

Thank you for uploading this performance which displays extraordinary musicianship based on a very solid mastery of the violin. SoHyun Ko indeed "speaks" with nobleness and generosity to the audience with her playing; she indeed "plays and communicates the music", rather than "playing emotions" (as is often seen when players twist and turn and make faces etc. while thinking they are communicating the music). She lets the music speak and her violin conveys the wide variety of sound and color, music intentions, to touch the listener's heart. She certainly let the virtuosity and lyricism of this piece shine brightly ... a rising star of tomorrow (and even now)

연주 다들었는데…그 나이때의 김연아같은 사람일거라는 생각이 들었다. 사람 자체가 그릇이 큰. (그릇이 큰데 미친 재능에.미친 연습량) 둘다 한국에서 이런 사람이 나온다는게 신기하고 성장해가는 모습을 방구석에서 이렇게 지켜볼 수 있는 세상도 신기하다.

The smoothness on her playing is kinda nuts compared to a lot of other violinists I've seen playing this piece 😮😮The pianist did really nice as well, I prefer this piece with this type of duo (piano-violin) instead of the orchestra concert. In my opinion the piano staccato's give it a more playful tone.

Nice interpretation: stable, dignified. Perfection of academy school sort of playing. She will probably stay that way through her carrier, that is probably tied to her character.

She's absolutely amazing 😍, best violinist player I have seen! If that is already unbelievable, the best part is she has only 16 years old!! Wau! Before this video I was even more impressed, playing with a pianist men, the pieces they where even more difficult, extremely difficult, and again she was even more younger, like 14, wau! Kudos to the pianist woman to for the timing, like accurate as the light, absolute syncronization. 👍

When you are young (pre-puberty) you can learn another language easily, and speak it with a perfectly native accent. Miss Ko obviously started English before, say, 13. But a person with her determination, skill, and, I must say maturity, is probably capable of learning anything she sets her mind to. Well, perhaps she'll never become a third baseman for the Atlanta Braves.
