In Avila I saw the church which is built over the place where she was born. I also visited Monasterio de la Encarnacion where she was lived more than 30 years of her life. Then I headed to Alba de Tormes, in Salamanca, where she passed away. Avila is easily reachable from Madrid by public transport but for Alba de Tormes you will need to hire private vehicle.
