The Headline of this clip was not said anywhere in this clip. What was said, paraphrased “we’re going to teach him what we want him (Rattler) to do and let the chips fall where they may”.. Derek Carr’s name, nor “QB1”, nor, “Starter”, was ever said. What DA essentially said was, “Rattler’s gonna get what he earns”. It’s kinda disrespectful to Jake Haener, because Rattler is going to have to first beat out Jake Haener to be the backup, before he’s even near the same zip code to compete with Derek Carr.

Jake Haener has outplayed Rattler completely so far in the OTAs. Rattler will likely be the third string QB this season.

Haener isn’t a rookie so he had an edge. The last practice Spencer was even with Haener. Either way, both these guys could be starters one day, I just think Rattler has the higher ceiling because he has more arm talent and better measurable. Training camp and preseason will reveal the truth. I do t take much stock in OTAs

I think it goes without saying that most teams gonna have QB battles should they warrant for them. Take Steelers for example, Russ and Fields are competing so it's not surprising Saints would be doing the same with their QBs

Rich eisen using clickbait. Rattler will be competing with Haener for the backup position. Not competing with Carr I can promise you that. And paying attention to OTAs he's not ahead in that competition either. And yes I know it's just OTAs

Dennis miss spoke, there’s absolutely no expectation on Rattler to compete with Derek Carr this season, he’s competing for a backup spot. Let the kid sit and learn. As for now Carr is the guy unless he’s injured.

Hate it or luv it have you noticed that some of the young qbs wear 1 on their jerseys. hmm they definitely love Cam Newton but they also want to be like Mahomes and Jackson. Rattler went from being a Heisman favorite to getting benched. To me shows no leadership. Maybe he got a reality check and can do well, but QB is about leadership not just throwing a ball.
