Saitama (サイタマ, Saitama) is the main protagonist of the series and the titular One-Punch Man and the most powerful being to exist in the series. Saitama faces a self-imposed existential crisis, as he is now too powerful to gain any thrill from battle.[3]
Initially just a hero for fun,[4] Saitama later registers to be a professional hero for the Hero Association[5] and defends his home in Z-City from monsters, villains, and other threats.[6] Under the Hero Association, he is assigned the hero name Caped Baldy (ハゲマント, Hagemanto; Viz: Bald Cape)[7] and is currently ranked 7 in the B-Class.[8]

Absolutely fire man I love how you give different prospectives on your raps it really gives it another dimension. What I come to understand is that Santana doesnt really regret the power he achieved its that he wants an opponent who he can go all out with. Saitama removed his limiter but he doesn't know why he did. If he can find someone to push his limits he will find the answers he seeks on why he became a hero

King mentioned that Saitama has all this power but he hasn't achieved anything. He may be the strongest but that doesn't make him the best hero. He questions himself but I think he will come to a realization that he didn't want to remove his limiter for the sake of fighting stronger opponents but to face any evil that try to do harm

@@DavidoMAMO I think a lot of people lean too heavily on parody or it having a plot, I think the right way to describe it would be closer to a commentary or a desconstruction. It uses tropes, but also subverts and digs deeper into them at various angles.

One of the reasons I like you is that you focus so much on the character. The others focus on Saitama's overwhelming strength but you focus on the pain he feels for being to powerful. And the sick beats of course

Gosh this is fire. But dammit it’s so fucking sad. Reminded me of why i would feel bad for him. Imagine that. Feeling sadness for someone with such power. Strength really isn’t everything. He trained so hard for this and now it begs the question. Was it worth it all in the end? He’s really out there saving everyone except for himself. Thankfully Genos is there now to give a bit of life to his days of boredom. At least he’s not alone anymore so there’s that.

It's impossible to imagine how alone Saitama must feel, unable to relate to anyone's determination to grow stronger because strength as a concept is wholly irrelevant to him.

Don't know if DPS intend this but, I can kinda draw a connection with the build up of each verse and the fights in the show. As it get more intense you expect a awesome drop or flow change but you just get a chorus or mello fell, kinda like the fights in the show lots of lead up and hype just for it to end abruptly.

I think this song perfectly describes Saitama's thoughts when he's in a depressed phase. He just wonders if all of this is worth it, and if fighting against always-recurring evils will ultimately change anything. It's sad, but when you pay attention to Saitama when he's in a good mood & says inspirational things, you can see he doesn't regret his power. He became who he is not just to be the strongest, but to defend those who can't defend themselves. In his first fight when he still had hair, it's shown that he sees villains as bullies & he won't let them have their way, even if he ends up dying. That sentiment of his is still there and is expressed in the anime opening's lyrics. He acknowledges his responsibilities as the Earth's protector and will fight as long as he lives bc that is his purpose. When he remembers that, he becomes at peace with being the One Punch Man; you can even say he owns it. Loved the rap, keep it up 💖

Something that I appreciate just as much as your production value is your narrative insight. You voice your interpretation of the messages given by different fictions every once in a while, and while it isn't all the time I count them as some of my favorites. Assassination Classroom is a good example. The surface level appreciator of the One Punch saga may not detect how deep the empty goes with Saitama, but you did really well to illustrate how jaded and disenchanted the unsung hero has become.

I love how Saitama has to struggle with sympathizing the hardships of others not because he’s above those who are weaker but because he’s simply so bored and hasn’t had to experience it for so long . Proof you can still be a good person despite being apathetic towards everything

Saitama is a funny character but still I never even seen a stronger human than him in all anime! (DBZ characters aren't human and Lord Zeno is definitely stronger)

I like how a few years ago your raps were more story telling. Then they became just I'm a straight bad ass dude type stuff like a year ago. And now you got this perfect mix of I'm a bad ass with a story type stuff. Like honestly how do you keep getting better when it seems your are already at the top.

This song hits on something fundamental to the human condition and growing up. How much it hurts when we try to help everybody but ourselves and only realize too late that no one would do the same for us. I'm calling it, this is probably going to be viewed as DPS' magnum opus decades from now. Surprised it still has less than 500K views as of this comment, because this nailed it in one go. If you can only listen to one DPS song ever, this is it.
