SC is a controlled turret simulator, you dont need a Saitek X52 Pro Joystick to use it, only some xbox gamepad you saw on many SC presentations

Well seeing as how I currently use my X52 pro to play Arena Commander..... I'd say your point is invalid sir. Sure it may not be needed, as other control methods are accepted. But it adds to the experience, that's for sure.

Sieg Valahn Seeing as you've been playing WT with this stick for a couple of months now, can you tell me your thoughts? I've been looking for a good stick, and the x52 Pro is currently at the top of my lis because the Thrustmaster Warthog seems a bit too heavy duty. the x52 is HOTAS and has plenty of buttons for all my functions (I've already mind-mapped them to the controls) allowing for only minimal kb usage. I'm also considering the TrackIR, but that's a seperate issue.

NLTops, I actually was just playing with my pro last night on Evochron Mercenary. The stick works great, I really enjoy it to be honest with you, The software that you install shows you if the the stick centers, and mine does every time. I do not regret my decision at all.

Did you ever end up getting one? A few of my friends said that they're shit quality and break within the first couple of weeks of having them. I'd like to believe otherwise

Keinlicht Mostly how it looks. Pro was a refresh with better quality supposedly.

Let me point out some things that you might need to know about the x-52 that got me frustrated at first but then I kinda solved them. 1st) The thrust controller has 2 points at the start and at the end that disallow smooth movement. Think of it like 2 bumps that after that point in some simulators the afterburner is enabled. For example that is true for Lock-On games. But I cant figure out how to use this in Elite dangerous... Anyway, it got me frustrated because I wanted to have smooth movement all the way from start to end, but that is impossible (aslong as you dont open it and remove the "bumps") and what I did, is that I tweaked the dead zone parameters so that I can achieve 0 and 100% thrust after the 1st and before the 2nd bumb. 2nd) The drivers. Use the latest drivers ONLY. Go to their website and download those instead of those in the CD rom and thank me later :P 3rd) The god damn profiler... The 'profiler' is a program coming with x52 that allows you to assign x52 keys to keyboard buttons and later on in the game you can use different profiles with the profiler switch.... It just, didn't worked for me... :/ I don't know why, but if you search all the x52 forums, you will see, that the profiler is just broken. And it causes lots of problems. But let me explain. When I had the profiler "on" with all my profiles of different buttons ready for action. While playing any game and after 5 minutes or so, the controller was losing contact with the game in a way that I had to disconnect my x52 and reconnect it again to my PC to be able to use it again in the game... When I bought it and that started to happen, I was depressed. I thought that my stick was broken, I was about to open it (loose the guarantee) and try to see what is wrong with it... And hopefully I didn't do that (stupid move) but instead I searched on forums and people were saying that's the profiler's problem. So I uninstalled the profiler and now works like a charm... 4th) Mouse button 1 button, mouse button 2 button, mouse wheel and mouse mini joystick. Those are 2 buttons, a wheel and a mini joystick that are placed on the thruster controller. Those buttons have pissed me off because I couldn't find how to assign them to any keys, but I found the solution! So. Those buttons and wheels, control your mouse (instead of controlling it with the mouse itself :P) So if you want to assign any keys to those buttons of wheels you have to assign different keys to the mouse itself, in order for them to be applied in the game for the ones I mentioned. 5th) The ' i ' button. Ok, another frustration of mine .... This is a button that didn't worked no matter what I did. I also thought that my truster button was broken and I searched the forums and I found that you have to enable "Clutch mode" and maybe "Latched Clutch mode" also. So when you buy the game you can contact me to tell you how to do it, in order for the key to work... 6th) The pinky button... Ok this is a button located in the Stick and it's for the pinky finger (a pinky finger trigger yo xD) that if you install the drivers in the CD ROM it will play, but if you use the latest drivers it won't play -.- What is going on with this one, I don't know, I'm still searching the forums... :/ I think that's pretty much all... So you get an Idea that things are not as "good" as they appear to be... People are reporting tons of problems with x52 and x52 pro, so when you buy it! Get ready for a lot of forum searching :P

I have the Thrustmaster Hotas for Elite, it is good but not perfect. So Im going to order the Saitek X52 ( standard ). But for the full experience, I can only say you guys should buy voice attack software. Speaking commands is a dream for Elite, and you can test that software for 30 days or so. Now I will adapt my sim racing rig to a multi platform rig :-)

designamk1 idk what he gets but i can answer u for my own xps... the hotas itself is great, the software from Logitech sucks as hell ! (original software from saitek is bugged or too old, unusuable) with IL2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad (flightsim, not arcade game) there are conflicts between game/keyboard/x52pro software soon as u try to use more of 1mode... same for double trigger, soon as u create a profile inside software, usual concept of pressing/release the trigger to openfire/ceassing fire is wasted (for awefull: "press to openfire in continue ; press again to ceasse fire" wich is a pure waste of ammos and deeply against basic dogfight sensations !), and no way to get it back except play without customized profile of x52pro software, without 6modes and without double trigger... there, no trouble, sure. but waste both major assets of the product just coz software sucks is really insane ! i bought it 15days ago, spent 60h since only to configure the beast, found ways to fix little troubles, but these major programmation errors of x52pro software (with il2 BoS, i cant judge for DCS yet) are unfixable without a patch from Logitech ! sooo... :/ a beautyfull beast, yeah... ^^ if u dont push too far to maximize ergonomy and customized options and if u are lucky to enjoy games devs have chosen to build this hotas... there its a good product ! ...beside, if u leave these limits, u are f*cked ! and u must not be hurry for support from helpdesk of Logitech too... afaik (and with others comments i've seen on their forum, i am not the only one waiting help i guess) so, be sure of what u wait from a hotas before buy this one... ^^ for arcade games and basic gameplay or for optimized games specified (FSX for x52pro) its cool... soon as u push a little deeper to optimize "theorical" advanced assets of the product...... ISSUES START !!! :/

Never, ever play WoWp, this game is HORRIBLE! Using a simulator joystick for such arcade nonsense crap is insane! Better play War Thunder Simulator Battlese!

Yes I still use it. It has been rock solid for about 3 years of weekly if not daily use.

bugs181 I'm looking at the same thing. So far the pro is winning. It has more tension on the stick and twice as many sensors so more responsive. Looks better but I'm going for functionality in the end, so the pro is it for me!

Richard Easton Thanks for sharing! After researching sticks for several hours, I feel like the X52 standard is more suited to my needs. I only wish the throttle control itself had 2 easily reachable buttons on the handle. Then it would be more suited to the games I play like planet-side and Elite Dangerous. The jury is still out on this one. I don't really need the advanced tension or sensitivity. The X52 standard + 2 buttons on the throttle would be sufficient. Is there anyone out there that could recommend such a setup?

if you had listened then you would know that it has suction-cups on the bottom to prevent it from sliding

fking excellent. half the time the people dont like stick its because they have their in game settings totally fed up... you cant judge a stick and give advice about it if you dont know 100% what ur settings do _kloudy_ in war thunder

+Trusteft Yeah, I have been researching the two sticks myself and it turns out that the pro version has more metallic parts, Tends to have a longer lifespan and unlike the non-pro, Its very hard to break. The only breaks happened during shipping. Also the pro has two springs vs the one on the regular
