Great review. I'm using the X 52 Pro. I was wondering how you removed the circular Mouse Aim Cursor? I have no gimbaled weapons and find it quite annoying! Cheers

:) Thanks for vid, appreciate hand / size comparison. Same issue i was having with the long reach. Would probably look to raising wrist by butchering one of my grifiti wrist rests.. But then you have the issue of having 2 fingers possibly hitting the trigger. Perhaps saitek will see vid and make small, medium and large hand size sticks. As any mods to it would probably result in having to then mod the trigger, or loosing that strange button under the trigger. I was having all sorts of issues when i tried setting the 2 hats on the throttle to different tasks. Worked ok for manoeuvring thrusts, but had to just set both to the same task as kept forgetting which one to use. Those weird twiddly things - best i've seen someone do was to set to changing the trim of flaps on flight games.. Perhaps we could tune into in-game radio stations or use them in some strange radar bases mini-game (eg engineer consoles etc) Hang on to the stick mate. I'm in no rush to have it back atm. Perhaps perhaps if u upgrade you can send it back or something.

i got a Mad Cats 3, its was 30 bucks and is damn good, only down side is the trottle is built in with the sticks mount. its not too comfy for long durastions flights were you want to lay back with your arms spread out but is great if your in a plane, car or on your toes cuase a jerry is on your ass with a ME-109 , the whole thing can fit easly in your lap. stick and trottle

Is there a quick way to switch from HOTAS to mouse control for first person combat, or do you have to use the stick?

Mine lasted almost 6 months, they did just replace it with a x56 at least which I can sell on. Id recommend two T16000m any day over the x55, A little short on buttons but nothing you cant fix with voice attack.

HOTAS X for the win! A brilliant HOTAS for those of us with real life problems to spend our money on. I used it with Elite for ages and loved it. Cheap and Cheerful all the way. :)

Most important thing is to take your HOTAS off the desk and screw it down to something firm down at thigh height and midway up the length of your thighs. If you don't get what I am getting at then I suggest you look at any F-16 Falcon or F-22 Raptor cockpit layout. The Joystick and throttle grip layout is modeled exactly aff of those aircraft. It doesn't matter if it's this discontinued X55 or the new X56.

Is this flight stick worth £60?

Is there an advantage for people who use mouse's compared to joystick user's in combat?.

The problem with my X-55 is when my hand isn't applying downward force on the stick's hand rest, whatever I'm flying will move slowly. This is probably just me but I'll put it here anyway! Btw if anyone knows how to fix this there is a free bag of skittles going around :)

This Vs. the X-56 ugh.... I think this may be better but I’m not 100% sure! The X-56 seems to be very very broken, as this looks and apparently is better. I don’t like how there is only 1 mouse nipple but 1 is good enough.

I think x55's spring too strong, even the softest one, and yea, stick is for really big arms... For me X52 Pro much better and more comfortable for playing SC

After 45 seconds your talking about the various features of the controls but all I've been seeing is game-play in a craft. This is not useful at all.
