DEANO & LEE HAVING FUN (AGAIN) ON LEES NEW HANGAR 9 OSCAR KI-43 DOWN AT THE PATCH - THIS WAS THE SECOND FLIGHT AFTER THE MAIDEN AND SHE HAS THE RESERVE FUEL TANKS FITTED TO THE WINGS,
EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NO WIND THIS DAY THE TANKS DEFINETLY SLOWED THE MODEL DOWN AND CAUSED HER TO WALLOW IN CERTAIN MANOUVRES,
NOT ENOUGH OF A PROBLEM TO THREATEN THE FLYING QUALITY - JUST MAKES FOR UNCOMFORTABLE FLYING - ESPECIALY IN WINDY CONDITIONS I WOULD EXPECT !

Speaking as a ridiculously top-heavy woman with 'drop tanks' of her own, this 'bird' can confirm that they do indeed create a significant amount of drag and have a noticeable affect on one's high-speed performance... ;-)

very distinct and unique sound coming from that 3-cylinder. great flight demo also! (minus the snap-pop of the flaps... should dial in a few seconds of transition in the radio :D

I think the Ki-43 is a great replacement for the good old Corsair. But still want the Corsair.

Love the plane itself, but that paint scheme is hideous.

Why ? It has been a common japanese camouflage. Sometimes the green spots were spray painted, sometimes not. It´s authentic. In addition to the hayabusa I would like to see a model of the Hayate too.
