Been running this ink combo for a bit now, here are my observations so far: What are you considering for item removal? My deck was using 3 Judy Hopps and 2 Wildcat. Judy in lue of Hiram for an option to draw but really for instant counter lucky dime or ice block. Wildcat as preference in starting hand vs S/R. Also, I’ve had great success with Beast - Wolfsbane. Everyone forgets there’s a single rush Emerald and it one-hits big Sisu, Medusa, Tinkerbell/Maui (With hidden cove)etc. if you drop him on 6 ink vs fox you can move him to cove to survive the trade making opponent use another resource to out him. If he’s also after Cogsworth his trade value goes up, especially if opponent is keeping a damaged character active to prevent loss since he will exert them. Testing the waters with Tiberius / Jaq to taunt diablos / high questers myself and using Kit to bounce red Flynns, Ursula, etc etc. Also, Vision Slab has been a game ended vs Ruby/Amber. They don’t really run item removal so just putting that down kills the Rapunzel engine. Mixed success with Flynn Rider his own biggest fan and Belle hidden archer. With the ward and resist both demand opponent responses. Been running 2 of each since they both represent a similar threat profile. Edit: Also, it feels like this deck can suffer to faster paced decks without an early game threat via like cursed merfolks or Flynn. Still alternating using them to see the early-game pressure changes and how that relates to overall gameplay

Current deck looks like this: Pawpsicle 4 Stone Dragon 3 Aurora Dreaming 4 Cogsworth Grandfather 4 Tamatoa 4 Cove 4 Lil’ Pegasus 3 Merfolk 3 Bucky 4 Flynn Charming 4 Diablo Herald 4 Vision Slab 2 Heihei Bumbling 2 Kit Cloudkicker Tough 2 Wildcat 2 Flynn HOBF 2 Big Pegasus 2 We Don’t Bruno 2 Beast Wolfsbane 3 Belle Hidden Archer 2 I tend to: Turn 1: merfolk or Lil Pegasus-> Turn 2: Flynn or Bucky-> Turn 3: Vision(vs Ruby/Amber) Wildcat (Saphire/X if items present) Diablo (If Bucky almost always, if no Bucky then vs non-Steel / Ruby decks) Pegasus (If Lil’ Pegasus, definitely if turn 2 Bucky) Stone Dragon (If no other options, usually tied with Merfolk + Flynn start since you’ll have discarded characters to ink. If you Bucky turn 2 likely you’ll only have the 1 use from it before it could stall if they don’t out your turn 3 option.) I try to play Aurora after Cogsworth for survivability but will prioritize it if I’ve got board presence and it’s vs steel/ruby/emerald decks. Been debating replacing tamatoa as they don’t really come out much with the curve and lack of Hiram + more items + fishbone to ink up faster. Might replace them with 2 Tiberius, Jaq, new discard Jasmine or redistribute those cards to up some others. Any thoughts/CC would be appreciated. Trying to refine this guy for Texas if possible.

this is such great advice! wish i could see these types of comments more often. i recently was trying to join the emerald/steel discard train but due to how expensive the cards are i wanted to try my hand at something different but cheap(compared to the meta decks). i love the sapphire steel item ramp play style but enjoy the discard engine. this meets both!

The only problem is going to come with ruby be prepared or even red removal. I think it’s good solid A tier. The issues with this deck are that sapphire doesn’t offer a lot of offensive type of cards so any good removal plays early enough will slow it down.
