Hei Ray, Thank you for this good review. We just wanted to correct one small, but very important detail. Our chambers and receivers are not forged, but they are machined separately from the barrel. Only our barrels are cold hammer forged. Also the cut-out on the barrel is for open sights, not for a muzzle brake. 😉

My father bought a Sako in 1965/66, a bull barrelled .243 topped with a Unertl external adjustment scope, and took a ground hog at around 700 yards with it. Standing next to him was his neighbor Vernon - a local mink farmer. They drove out to the field to retrieve it (they ground the hogs up raw & fed them to the minks) and it was laying there with it's tooth on its tongue. Vernon went into town the next day and bought that rifle with the funny name. Both rifles harvested hundreds of ground hogs. Dad still has his set up the same way. They make a hell of a rifle. Great review 👍

I just wish they started making them in 300 prc as it allows you tomuse heavy 300 bullets and still easily use the magazine.

Thank you for a very informative review. I consider you to be a real subject matter expert, and a great shooter. For the price tag, I would not purchase that rifle for three main reasons. The price of the magazines, the feeding issues and the inability to load a round without having to load it into a 200.00 magazine. With all that said You did an excellent job, and I look forward to your next video.

How long does it take to do a barrel swap when you have to send it to Finland? That down time would be a no go. The $200 magazines that don’t work is also a no-go. For 6 grand I could have a nice custom rifle built and a second barrel fitted as a backup. All with reliable magazines. Great shooting! They are nice but they need to fix their flaws.

I've been using the trg 22 for 10 years, it's a great rifle, but like everything else, the trg 22 has its flaws! Often, after 4 to 5 thousand fired rounds, the trigger mechanism malfunctions, that is, the trigger force adjustment! Also to frame raters. there is a malfunction and it happens that often the hardener does not lock! All in all a great rifle!

I figured you left out some information lol. Because I have a 300 prc build that’ll do sub-moa at 130 yards pretty easily with factory 225 eld-m. Bighorn tl3, Cadex field chassis, preferred 27” barrel and a419 sidewinder. I actually just shot it a week ago verifying my kestrel at 530 and shot 2 on steel .5” apart. My first shot was low thanks to bad vertical input in the kestrel. Had +.5 instead of +.15 for my offset. That first round would have been exactly 2” off the other 2 to the right and that was more than likely me or wind. Either way 2.5” at 500 is good enough for what I’m doing with it.

impressive shooting and accuracy but for a $6k rifle with $200 magazines that has issues with chambering in bolt action... not good. to think that shipping packaging was so poor it crushed the feed lips is the generous assumption. more likely their QC is weak and its showing up in your magazine. and shipping the gun over seas to get a new barrel. also not good. or any other issues that may arise from "shipping damage." thanks for the detailed review. your videos are good

I'm far from a Sako expert, but you mean a TRG-22 in 260? Those are very rare, hang on to that sucker. Only offered briefly, something like 2 years.

@@davidwright5580 Ah! Apologies, my limited research thus far has only led me to the TRG side. Of course their non-TRG offerings should be fine firearms as well.
