As a german who understands them, the main reason Rank 2 tanks are so hard to pronounce is because they are massive abbreviation of their designation. Their full names basicly describe the entire tank including their role on the battlefield

I really struggled with British tanks, barely getting a kill each match at tier 1. Switched to German and I went 7-0 and could survive for ages, even under fire from two tanks at once.

I would like to add that the Begleit 57 can be an amazing SPAA, the HEVT has a maximum range of 5km, easily outranging the Gepard, which really helps against helicopters or aircraft with guided missiles. Its also pretty nice as first spawn to counter early air threads without trading in performance against ground targets like you would with dedicated SPAA. Oh, and if you have your APHE and HEVT limited to 10 rounds, you need to restock them in the modification window, its an old issue with this vehicle specifically.

I am playing Warthunder for 1.5 years now. I started out with germany and got now all top tier vehicles. I didn't find germany to be the easiest starter nation. I'd rather go with russia. BUT I never played a game like WT before. Therefor I found the russian tanks easier since they can take a punch which I didn't exp with german tanks. This exp might be different though for someone who played a similar game before. Well... German speakers can pronounce it as well as all nations that are close to german. :D

Now that I rewatched this video, I just noticed something. Not something to crazy but worth mentioning anyways: Panzer IV is actually more complicated and more expensive to produce than a Panther, especially the H variant

If you get your hands on the KV-IB it's absolutely one of the best tanks in the game. Smart gameplay makes it invincible in traditional engagements and can single handedly stall advances if the enemy doesn't know where to aim.

Incredibly good video! I love your content. I recently got into war thunder as a new player, so the game is punishingly difficult. But watching your videos has definitely improved my gameplay, and made me enjoy the game much more! I just decided to grind through the German tech tree yesterday, so this video was a pleasant surprise to see!

Are people genuinely finding the Ostwind 2 and the Kugelblitzt bad? Are we playing the same vehicles? As aa's both are absolutey amazing.

Most of this is true but you missed on several gems of the tech tree. Also, the Ostwind 2 is extremely effective. And so is the Kugelblitz, especially by not being a vulnerable open top. Coelian (now removed) is even better, as I'd say the 37mm is a better anti air gun than the 30mm just by not having a magazine to reload.

As a German I have absolutley no Problem pronouncing the full names of the tanks, but I understand why nobody tries it, as we usually have long and complicated names for our Vehicles (In Terms of SdKfz etc.)

Germany easily best nation in the game they have not suffered in a very long time

I wanted to add that there is still the panther 2, the tiger 2 with the big barrel and the aa tank that is based on a panther. They are not more to get but still they exist and I am happy to have them :)

A tip for anyone wanting to play the stug dont try to push and be a breakthrough tank sit in a corner and ambush people Or go up find a short wall sit behind it and shoot the enemie from almost complete safety the best map for this is the big japanese shrine map you can sit behind the low walls in the center of the map and pick off enemie turrets and upper hulls while they can barely shoot you

What gets me is that modern mbts are designed mainly to defend against chemical rounds something that isn't often used in other mbts compared to apfsds rounds to combat other armored tanks. Its mostly useful against man portable weapons which are required to us chem rounds due to size limitations. This feels like a reaction to the 60-80s where it was mainly heat shells being used to chew through heavy armor before composite was designed

I see the Tiger like this: The Tiger is an armored knight with a Hammer/pick. Deadly and well armored but not effective without men-at-arms (i.e other tanks) to support it.

The tiger can be practically invincible if you know how to use it , I once took 10 hits from a jumbo and a spg, took out the spg and the jumbo took me out but I got enough sp from it for cas

the Pz F2's gun was a PaK 30 or a PaK 40, i cant remember which one it was but it was VERY VERY good at nailing tanks at mid to far ranges, which is why its on a medium tank in WT. how ever it was very big and you couldnt carry many round due to their size. and the turret WAS STUPIDLY cramped, and the crew didnt like the fact that the turret was cramps and really only had room for two not three.

The tiger h is incredibly good with a little bit of angling and its cannon is better due to the post pen as the panther and tiger can pen pretty much anything at any point at that br but obviously you can’t aim at a 70 degree 100 mm thick piece of armour and expect it to pen

something I'm surprised you didn't mention is the fact of just how cheap it is to repair german rank 7, with like maybe 2k SL per tank, that's the biggest win for me

Actually, I enjoy the tigers over the panthers, the reverse gear is great and the BOX hull make angling easy, and aiming for weak spots is a lot better with the 88, as you have the explosive filler to really exploit cupolas

As a German main and a German I can agree that the tigger H1 is a very bad tank but I have been able to tank around of 6 to 7 shots before dying in it

And thats as expected not very fun where mobility, laser rangefinders, apfsds and atgms ignore armor like noones buisness and your tank only has armor and nothing else. Good video tho. I do honestly think that German SPGs are good, stay at the back on a hill and you can consistently get kills without much issue.
