The siege of Jerusalem lasted from September 20 to October 2, 1187, when Balian of Ibelin surrendered the city to Saladin. Earlier that summer, Saladin had defeated the kingdom's army and conquered several cities.

I'm far from being able to play without mods or cheating in Total War games, it's so overwhelming compared to games like Command & Conquer or StarCraft (and in the case of Total War Rome 2, the Politics system that ensure civil wars every 10 turns or so makes things even harder for me). So seeing others making Total War videos of battles worthy of being in a fanmade 3D movie is perfect for someone like me. I have a question, can you do "alternate history" battles videos? Like, what if Western Rome managed to survive by winning a particular battle or if Eastern Rome managed to prevent the rise of the Ottomans by winning at Manzikert?

I’ve never played total war, but I do LOVE page of empires 2, been playing it since I was a tiny kid. But you make me want to play this game! All the different medieval units are heaven for a dark ages nerd like me but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to do massive battles like this. And I’m confused at all the different total war games out there. Which is the ones you play on? Or what’s the best for medieval ages like age of empires 2? Thank you

This is a mod for either Rome Two or Attila. Recently Rome 1 got a remastered, and medieval 2 is still very playable ( is also still consider the best total war by many).

@@joshuawilliams9020 The game is not changing. For it to become unplayable, the player is to blame. There is no 'still'. There is aging. In the brain of a gamer, the stage of aging where a game becomes 'unplayable', that is the stage of retardation.

A game can become so old that just loses all compatibility with operating systems or key programs to run it are discontinued. That what I mean. For example Rome 1 before remastered can actually run must faster than it should in newer systems, leading weird gameplay changes.

That bombardment from the trebuchets would have been truly horrifying. An exploding artillery round would suck too but there is something scary about a huge rock flying at you.

It was my understanding the only ones allowed to go free were those who could pay for(basically ransomed) all the rest were sold into slavery, maybe wrong but I did read it somewhere. Just the same old story rich go free and the poor pay the real price somethings never change.

Actually, only about 7,000 Christians were allowed to leave the city becasue Saladin agreed to a ransom of 10 to 30 dinar per Christian. So of course not every one was able to buy their way out as 30 dinar is a full years income for the average person back then. Balian pleaded with Saladin that he would somehow get him the money if he let the rest of the Christan population go. But Saladin refused. So 7,000 were able to get out and the rest became slaves. With one source claiming that each Muslim soldier had as many as ten new Christan slaves following the battle.

Only a minute in but says Saladin had approx' 20,000 Soldiers ? In the film Kingdom of Heaven, it's said that Saladin had 200,000. Quite a difference.

well infantry look real but firepower and rate of fire from siege machine is crazy , a trebuchet needed many hours for reloading in reality.....(so able to fire one round every 6H.......)

Its called attila you need medival kingdoms for Medival 2 you can't get mod but you can get kingdom expansion which unlocks all type of kingdoms you wanna play like America britain crusades tutonics
