@@Dave002 Not really, and it's not being "cold". The main reason is religion, same with khabib. We cannot touch the opposite gender if they are not our spouse or close family member, goes for both men and women. Prevention is better than cure. And men have to lower their gazes, meaning you cannot look at women other than their wife more than necessary (in a lustful manner), whether she's wearing revealing clothing or not.

@@chilipepper44 you are mistaking my use of "middle east" with "muslim". yes you are 1000% correct in terms of traditional muslims, but I am talking about the generalized culture in the rest of the middle east or a lot of the non-muslim. islamic people for example can choose to have more than one wife, but some choose to stay devoted to a single wife, while being aggressive towards other females.

It’s not shyness but a deliberate attempt to keep his eyes and physical contact to a minimum. Both because he’s Muslim and Arab/Egyptian. In Muslim cultures, a man is meant to show respect to women by not making physical contact, staring or flirting. Good men and boys maintain this practice even if they aren’t very religious. In the case of Salah, the whole Arab and Muslim world has their eyes on him, but I believe he brings this modesty with him from his upbringing in Egypt anyway.
