This is a great thing your doing as i reverted to Islam 2 months & 3 days ago & wish i had someone to be able to teach me more bout Islam as I'm still fairly new to Islam, including teaching me more bout how to do Salah as i have to use tutorials on KZfaq to learn how to do it

I've recently made the decision to convert to Islam as i believe its the only true religion left & that all the other religions have lost there ideals, it is a beautiful & simple religion, but haven't taken my Shahada yet, gonna do that tomorrow.....Alhamdulliah

The Ottoman empire did take Christian kids, converted them and trained them to be one of the most elite and loyal soldiers to the empire. They were called Jannisaries. Of course it is not acceptable by Islamic standards to kidnap children. This was a ottoman practice, and not an islamic one.

He is right, ottomans did it. Major example is Vlad the Impaler from Wallachia (actual Romania) which was taken from Ottomans as a kid with his brother and grown up with the actual Ottoman heir Mehmet II and than, once grown, decided to go back to his roots and betray the Ottomans and ended up fighting his "brother in faith" Mehmet II, dying.

The last verse "And he gave signs(to humans by allah) but they deny....would you look at that, that actually shook me hard cuz allah almighty was directly talking to the guy (tom) that he gave you signs (i am talking bout the discussions of seed and trees they had before) but you deny it. allah is talking to him directly. look they had discussion about the trees and things and in islam we dont belive in coincidences and believe that everything has a purpose, so he allah says gave a sign to tom as how they were talking about that and he chose the one verse in which it was obvious and the last verse said that " and we certainly showed him i.e Pharoah (here it is tom) our signs all of them, but he refused....By all of them maybe allah meant the signs that he gave tom before this video (in the past)....as a muslim this has made my belief strong as a mountain which can never be destroyed.....TY(^^)

no brother, you should read about the real history of Ottoman Empire, they were good in start but as times goes on they became barbaric they even have the law that allows the one who takes the throne to kill his remaining siblings who are even babies. Then Suleman the Magnificent came and stopped all of these barbaric and non Islamic laws. So good and bad rulers exist in Mamluk, Seljuks and even Umayyad Dynesty even one of the sahaba Ameer Mavia and his son went against Islam and many atrocities against muslims. So what people do does not define Islam, if we want to learn about Islam we should read Holy Quran.

Ali was wrong to say ask God to guide you then open a random verse. This is just inventing things in the religion. We don't know how Allah will respond to dua, and there is a hadith teaching us not to be hasty. If this isn't being hasty (expecting a sign within literally 1 second), I don't know what is. It is better to tell him to read the Quran.
