One day, a woman with a disability went to an elite brand boutique to treat herself with a pair of beautiful shoes she had been dreaming about.
However, she didn't expect the saleswoman to refuse to help her because of her wheelchair. She tried to complain, but the shop assistant caused a scene and shamed the customer yet again.
Can you guess what could have happened next?

Few years ago I herniated two disks in my back and my dog caused a small muscle tear in my back pulling on her leash. I was in agony, trying to use a motorized chair in a store and couldnt even stand to reach anything. I was in tears after so many refused to help. Then this shy 14 year old comes up and asks if they could help me with my shopping. Their mother saw what was happening and came and helped too. Even came outside and helped me get into my car, loaded all my groceries and offered to follow me home to help me get inside. All my disabilities are inside, so people say im lying or faing for attention. Im just trying to survive.

Sorry for the way individuals can be toward others... Unfortunately, for them all; they will experience pain like yours since they clearly don't understand how universal human suffering is. We're social to help ourselves because alone; we are very vulnerable. Some seem to have just been so lucky in life; they think the way it's been for them will always be... Until it's not. I hope you have family and friends... I hope you research and practice ways toward better health. (Salt and sugar aren't good for healing and trigger inflammation...) The sales manager is one of my favorite actresses and commands every role she plays. She really nailed the discrimination against the handicap role perfectly right down to the facial expressions. The young woman that played the intern represented what true customer looks like. Treat all people with dignity and respect; you never know who your entertaining. The ending was Fabulous; Ms. thing got what she deserved and so did the intern a great promotion!

I have disabilities too and I not only hate when teens and adults jeer at me and my friends, but I also hate when they talk down to me like I was child anywhere. I have a BA in Art at GSU, my friend has mild CP and has 3 college degrees in psychology and education. She is also married and has a son that goes to the college we met at in '83. Yet, she can't find a job and the places she worked hired pre-college teens (because to them, one said "we don't hire 'retards'.). Do that to a person of colour, gender, or religion, you'd get in serious trouble; they discriminated against my friend and she was told to go to VR who assured she was "retarded" and gave her a menial job she got burned out very quickly.

This happens more than the owners and managers are aware of. Not just for disabled, but seniors, and others that may not fit those individuals' idea of people who can afford or give them what they want. It's a social judgment based on ignorance and poor social up bringing, and hanging with the wrong crowd who thinks that outer appearances are everything.

The DramaizeMe veteran actor that played Lydia played the role so well, all the other actors just had to react to her. But, the actor in the wheel chair went beyond that and really flipped the story on its head. The life lesson is summed up by the last lines of the video, "You are a very good person. You know, the people like you are keeping the world turning." That is great writing of inspiring words. Yes, this has happened to me as a disable person. As if I didn't want to look lovely even when not well. And before I was ill, Funny, how I used to shop in upscale shops- when I had my business clothes on, salespeople bowed and scraped. One day, I went into the same shop on a weekend, with my casual weekend clothes- designer blazer over tee, designer jeans, handmade western boots- and the same salespeople wouldn't look at me. Didn't shop there anymore.

I highly doubt salespeople act like this. I have worked in retail for a while now and I have never witnessed anything like this. It saddens me that people see retail workers as terrible people. Also, side note. A retail worker isn't going to go out of their way to prevent a customer from buying something. We have a budget we are expected to reach every single day so we are determined to make sales. So unrealistic
@Gaia_Seraphina

This. That story is BS! Salespoeple make a living from selling stuff. As long as you are able to pay, you'll get it. Money is everything that counts in a capitalistic society.

When I was morbidly obese I bought a tiny bikini for my cousin. And the saleswoman ... didn't even bother to raise her eyebrow! Why? Because salespeople don't give a crap to whom they're selling their items as long as the customer has the money to purchase it. The more they sale, the better for them. This story is absolutely unrealistic.
@user-gp3sq9ii9l
@user-gp3sq9ii9l Жыл бұрын
Allow me to tell you it is not unrealistic.I have seen my own eyes a shop assistant being offensive to a young girl telling her that their line of clothes applies only to people who can "support" the inspiration of the designer...she added that her posture could not enhance the beauty of the outfit....I immediately left the shop.Two years later it closed down....I can"t guess why!!!
@Gaia_Seraphina
@Gaia_Seraphina Жыл бұрын
@@user-gp3sq9ii9l Exceptions prove the rule. Lunatics happen. Preventing paying customers from purchasing an item IS definitely crazy. But normal salespeople who wanna make a buck are *eager* to sell their goods to everyone who's able to pay for it. Even if they dislike the customer on a personal level. They'll butter them up, so that they'll get their money. Every business wants to make profit, after all. And designer clothes are not sacred items. Every business who's picky about their customers harm themselves and will go insolvent in the end. That's why this story is unrealistic. Unrealistic doesn't mean impossible at all. But it means that it's very unlikely to happen. That's why this story is making mountains out of molehills. Plus it's choosing the wrong kind of people for the discriminating villain. That's very slandering against salespeople who doesn't earn a lot of money. It's more likely that a jealous fellow customer would behave like this, not the saleswoman. Customers are usually the worst kind of people. *Everyone* working in the retail trade can tell you a story about entitled, haughty Karen-customers, who treated them like body servants. And my mom worked in retail, as a disabled person.

Thank you for this. I've been undergoing extreme harassment since being left crippled due to bad hip surgery in PA. Since I've had an exemplary life up until then, I really didn't have the skills to deal w being ganged up on and treated very badly by so many ppl. It is just like this woman in the video who tries to get her intern in trouble for what she herself did. This happens to ppl w disabilities all the time and it is easy to turn the tables on them. Ppl do it for sport here. Unfortunately, ppl here aren't known to stand up for ANYONE under any circumstances. They make it their day's gossip and eventually join in. A person with a handicap, especially an out of towner, an older person w/o a support group is already a good target to a small town's unkind ppl, but to go from being, as the kids say, "all that and a bag of chips" to being harassed and tormented for having done nothing to anyone, is a difficult task. We have fought discrimination of all kinds throughout my lifetime and certainly never expected to be on the losing side of it. We have always been the warriors, not the victims, but circumstances change lives over night. Videos like yours will, hopefully, begin to make a small difference in today's world where, what was once unthinkable behavior is now considered, not just acceptable but "cool." Thank you. It's Xmas eve and you've given me an extra dose of confidence. It's just been going on so long now that I've nearly forgotten there are still ppl risking their "cool" by supporting the rights of those no longer under the center of the bell curve. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, a Joyous Kwansaa, and a prosperous and healthy New Year to all.
