A look at Salford Central railway station on the morning of Wednesday 4th December 2019.
Salford Central is the first stop from Manchester Victoria when heading west and is served by Northern services to Southport, Wigan, Kirkby, Preston, Manchester Victoria, Bolton, Rochdale, Blackburn, Leeds and Stalybridge. Northern services to Liverpool Lime Street, Chester and Transpennine Express services running between Liverpool Lime Street, Manchester Airport, Manchester Victoria, Scarborough and Newcastle pass through the station at platforms currently disused though there are plans to bring these back into use again meaning that the station will, again, be served by stopping services to Liverpool Lime Street.
At the end of this video LNER A3 class 4-6-2 number 60103 (4472) 'Flying Scotsman' is seen passing the currently disused platforms with the outward working of 'The Flying Scotsman Christmas Dalesman' from Manchester Victoria to Carlisle.
