I'd love to actually see How these legendary makeup artists PRESENT their set-ups at an actual shoot. Love seeing the products but I'm curious as to how they/their assistants set it all up in a workspace.

Loved watching this! So interesting! Nice touch scenting the brushes with lavender. Lots of MAC! Wow. Loved the essentials bag! Amazing assortment of products. Ahh i love makeup!!! This series is just fabulous. I love Val's glasses and jewelry, my mom used to has a whistle necklace just like hers, those are the only 2 I have ever seen.

This was AH-mazing. I'll speak for all in asking for info on the bags within! The pencil case is fantastic--checking out my art store STAT. I take it the clear zip bags are Zuca? I really want to know about the mesh bags--particularly the one that laid out flat when she was describing her "quick-fix color kit". Please share! TIA

Me too!!! The smaller mesh bag that opened rather flat and the small plastic trays inside of the "zuca" looking bags - I need them in my life!

Kate Shorter I have a Zuca, which Sali also uses. Can get loads in it as the rectangular pouches stack up inside. Also has big side and back pockets and a waterproof pouch in the door. Lauren x

salihughesbeauty Thanks for your reply. I have a Zuca too, it works but, I like to use a suitcase when traveling. I'm wondering what her suitcase is? It had a flat top without a wardrobe in it. I am searching for a good quality one that has this configuration. Also the pencil case was great. I've only found ones with ugly brown interiors so far. Muji has a lot of great make-up containers here in the states.

Emma Lindvall building rapport involves letting the subject you're interviewing finish their sentences and not shouting them down. It's Val's voice we want to hear.

Ok I'm not batty! Love❤️ the magnifying glass! I carry a compact one that has a light. I can't see when applying false eyelashes - when I get close everything blurs 🤓. I wear glasses too. Now I will whip it out without embarrassment - if it's ok for Val, it's ok 👌🏽for me!

It's interesting to see she uses so many of the Bobbi eyeshadows. They are actually quite notorious for being poor işn pigmentation and i personally find them very chalky and stiff. I'll give them another go then

Maree Spagnol I think the moisturizer was the Laura Mercier infusion de Rose in both the oil & cream. She didn't actually say the name of the product with broken lid & I see others asking about the tube highlighter as well but I only saw the tiny tube of Becca beach tint which is a blush, not highlighter. Becca makes an outstanding cream highlight, though! HTH!

I was the same over 20 years ago my mother made me become a nurse and all I wanted to do was makeup.3 years later I literally walked out of the hospital mid shift and walked into a department store and begged for a job and go it.im now a successful makeup artist and love it more every day. Follow your heart and no regrets.

I might be imagining it but it looks as thought Val's hands are becoming slightly arthritic. If this is the case it must be heart breaking for her to have her passion in jeopardy, let alone the pain associated with this condition. Hopefully I'm completely wrong!

Hello! In Val's defense, that is probably the only shoe and sock combo she can tolerate. I am a Physical Therapist (Physiotherapist) for 18 yrs and she appears to be suffering from the early signs of rheumatoid arthritis which attacks small joints first, or the hands and feet. Clearly all her knuckles are enlarged, as are her wrists and undoubtedly her feet. She is presumably working in quite a bit of pain. Cudos to her for not giving in to her condition.
