@@Peter7966 , From Wikipedia: James Salisbury 1823-1905) was an American physician and chemist known for his advocacy of a meat-centered diet to promote health, and the term Salisbury steak for a ground beef patty served as an entree has been used in the United States since 1897. Today, Salisbury steak is usually served with a gravy similar in texture to brown sauce, along with various side dishes. It is a common item in supermarket frozen food sections. Dr. Salisbury recommended this recipe (somewhat different from modern Salisbury steak recipes) for the treatment of alimentation (digestive problems): Eat the muscle pulp of lean beef made into cakes and broiled. This pulp should be as free as possible from connective or glue tissue, fat and cartilage...previous to chopping, the fat, bones, tendons and fasciae should all be cut away, and the lean muscle cut up in pieces an inch or two square. Steaks cut through the centre of the round are the richest and best for this purpose. Beef should be procured from well fatted animals that are from four to six years old. The pulp should not be pressed too firmly together before broiling, or it will taste livery. Simply press it sufficiently to hold it together. Make the cakes from half an inch to an inch thick. Broil slowly and moderately well over a fire free from blaze and smoke. When cooked, put it on a hot plate and season to taste with butter, pepper, salt; also use either Worcestershire or Halford sauce, mustard, horseradish or lemon juice on the meat if desired. Celery may be moderately used as a relish. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salisbury_steak

Salute to Kent, Mrs Kent and the dogs and to the other commenters who unlike most places are always polite and kind. I live in South America now and instead of "Happy" New Year; they say (in Spanish) "Prosperous" New Year. That doesn't necessarily equate to money wise. Prosperity can be measured in many other ways. Clean water, a bed, shower, food with more than one color that I don't have to eat laying on my belly behind a rifle in 5 minutes out of a packet (Rations are actually much better now). Dogs, good people. Salute to all of you and thank you very much. I wish you a PROSPERO ANO NUEVO (From Colombia).

@@torkelsvenson6411 no there are hundreds of thousands worldwide sounding the alarm. But if it's not a TikTok video of dancing nurses or on the News that lies 24/7 you wouldn't know because they censor and erase truth. I know three MD's that have lost their licenses for speaking out. Now tell me, what do you think this says to others that see this. That's the problem, someone tell's a lie big enough, strong enough, and people will believe it because they can't fathom the breadth and scope of the lie. Coronavirus isn't fake. There is something making already sick people sicker and then sometimes die. But overall what is happening is a fraud. It's a takeover. Hi Kent Rollins. I love your vibe. Your country aesthetic. your dances when you cook some good food. All of it! A wonderful character. It made me happy when you thanked veterans and health care workers. As a Texan and medical professional, I support what y’all are doing. I’ll always take some notes for my cowboy cookin

I made this whole supper last Sunday night and invited friends too. It was my first time to try this recipe. It was a great success! Thank you! BYW - When I was buying meat in our local ranchers meat store I invited the others in the shop to go find you on KZfaq. I told them they could try anything you make and they will love both the food and you!

Dear Kent and Shan, Just wanted to drop you a note on this program. I have viewed a couple of times, this weekend with my wife and I fighting the "cold"; I thought "Hey I will give her a break and do this version of the Hungry Man Dinner, Now so you will know I am no kinda of a cook, when we go camping I am usually the camp cook, not because of any skill, but because no one else dares to take the position. So, to stop the rambling, the dinner turned out worthy of a Kent dance, seriously! It was that good. I made sure that all three of our pups got a taste. Thank you folks for making this place just a little bit better.

That also brings back memories for me! My parents did grocery shopping on Sat mornings and we’d have fresh Italian bread along with an Authentic TV dinner on our folding tray tables watching TV together that night! My favorite was the sliced pork and veggies plus a brownie for dessert!... all American fast dinner!

Kent and Shan you make great cooking videos that are fun to watch. What makes me love to watch them are your asking God's blessings and mentioning your appreciation of military members, especially since we were not appreciated while I was active, yours usually brings tears to my eyes.
