In April 2021, Leonardo Brasil, Brendan Heineg, David Sedelnick, and TJ Windsor lined up at the start of the 340-mile Iowa Wind and Rock gravel race.
None of them crossed the finish line.
Faced with a sense of defeat, they wanted a way to redeem themselves. Leonardo created a self-supported route in Colorado that would do just that: 345 miles and 25,000 feet of climbing.
Because Adventure, follows the crew from their pre-dawn start all the way to…well, you’ll just have to watch.

What's wrong with a walk being an adventure? Adventure IS everywhere.

Well done video. Thumbs up to the 4 gents who made this ride. May the one heal up and do it again! Hey, adventure means something different to everyone. I regularly go on an adventure ride of anywhere from 7 to 24 miles near my home. At my age, I am good with that. The point is: to get out there! Thanks for sharing.

I had the privilege of meeting Leo at IWAR in the middle of the night as we took shelter in a barn during a doozy of a storm. Hopefully see you in Iowa again next April my friend.

Hear, hear! At altitude, no less! (though it looks like their route lacked B roads, pig manure smells, and Casey's ;-)

Great video, I did however find the bit about adventure losing its true meaning to be a bit gatekeepy. I actually think people don’t go on adventures within their own city enough, and making adventures more accessible will continue the growth of bike adoption while not getting in the way of any ultra endurance riders like the folks featured here.

I may be misunderstanding the point and it’s valid to acknowledge the statement of adventure losing its true meaning to be a bit gatekeepy, but just for clarification this entire project was shot and filmed start to finish directly from Leo’s home, so in a literal sense this was a ‘backyard’ / local adventure

I agree with this sentiment, although one of the common definitions I see is "an unusual and exciting, typically hazardous, experience or activity." I think the purpose of the statement was to say that by using the word too much, we lose sight of the mentality of pushing yourself to new heights and instead think of what we can post on Instagram (the irony being this was made and posted to KZfaq). It is similar to people that travel across Europe saying "backpacking Europe", when in reality they use a backpack to store their goods, but they use public and private transportation get around, which still fits the definition, but doesn't feel right, as they are not using the backpack for anything more than a suitcase.

The goats at the end, that's why we do it, suddenly something natural but unexpected happens that would only be "felt" with this type of travel.

The word adventure has been "cheapened"? This was a long, admittedly hard, bike ride but you had a hotel to rest in on your "journey". Camping out would have made it an adventure.
