Angelina Jolie stars in Columbia Pictures' Salt, a contemporary espionage thriller. Before becoming a CIA officer, Evelyn Salt (Jolie) swore an oath to duty, honor, and country. Salt actually had Tom Cruise attached to be Salt, they decided to go with Angelina and make it a female spy. It was intended to become a franchise similar to 007 Bond, so I’m curious what happened to that idea, def would love more Salt Movies.

I prefer the female lead Salt. I mean, don't we have enough Bonds, Jason Bornes and Jack Reachers? Also, I liked how her fight scenes were mean a brutal because, let's be real, Angelina weights as much as a bundle of pencils. So, having her get three steps into a flying knee or bash a dude's face with a 9mm makes more sense than all of these other films where 115lbs women throw grown men around like toilet paper rolls. Also, keep Tom Cruise pinned down in the MI franchise.

Its interesting to see how people love to push the reality in action when it comes a fight between a girl and a boy, but when its between 2 boys, nobody push such "reality". Nobody complains about Tom doing fightings scenes against Henry and another guy, which clearly Henry is more fit and young, and breaking walls or doors. But when it comes to a fight between a girl and a boy, immediatly comes the question of "a girl cant thrown men like a toilet paper" because in reality such girl cannot do because she is tiny!

@Puddin two well trained professional fighters definitely need to have separation of weight classes. If however I were to be dumb enough to throw a punch at even a feather weight female pro fighter, my ass would be grass no matter how much bigger or heavier I was. Are you a trained fighter? Do you think you could take an MMA or Black Belt women just because she is smaller than you? Angelina was playing someone who has been training since childhood to fight, in a number of styles. If you came up against a ruthless highly trained person with a set mission do you think you could take them out, especially when they have the advantage of surprise? People keep commenting like this is some MMA or boxing match. Why? Did I miss the ring announcer and the entrance of the fighters into some sort of ring or octagon? This was a street fight in suits. He was doing his job and she was fighting to stay out of jail and to finish her mission.

I never saw this ending. At least, I don't remember seeing it. It was great working with her and Liev for several weeks in DC. She was going through DC with people just waving and standing aside like her own personal escorts when we filmed on 7th and Pennsylvania Avenue NW, as she ran through the subway scene and out across traffic. Because I have a bald head, I got to be in many of those scenes even as a driver who had to stop short of hitting her with my car. It was long days from sun up to sun down. She was pretty athletic in her own right and was suspended 3 stories off the ground in the scene she did where she choked out Liev over the railing which was filmed after the sun went down on the last day of shooting. I got some good close ups in that but most ended up on the cutting room floor. None the less, I got good food, good work and good pay. Telling stories is why I do it. This, was a great story. Good filmography for my history. Glad people got to enjoy this one.

But my bud, Kal, got an extra zero added to his paycheck the same day we started, so they took him to NYC to do the scenes up there because he was as tall if not taller than Liev. He was in the scene when they first spotted her leaving the apartment and started running after her and then in the SUV when Liev was chasing her down. Wow ... ( much more intense realisticly ... i agree " as a black widow " ( Jolie Nailed it ) 💯 ... However ( Angies Role wasn't merely black widowism ) it was way deeper and much more C.I. than the role of Scarlet J. ( her black widow role ) ... Semantics Yes ... but totally Different Dynamics in each movie ... Scarlet Still The Shyt Tho ! ... and Angie's No " Natasha Romaoff " either ... 🤫😎 Love Them Both ... Individually as Actors !! Forever Salt 💪🏾💯💯💯 I

Watch again after 10 years still a masterpiece and Disney should learn this if you want a strong female protagonist just make a own movie or a franchise, Angelina Julie fits this role so good, I always said they could have made an series, it’s not to late but need to come up with a good story! Just look At avatar, Indiana jones, coming to America it took more than 10 years to produce a movie example and I didn’t like the end a cliffhanger kinda and this was my favorite action as a kid.

That would’ve been satisfying. But I prefer his more gruesome end, and that she was just getting away to hunt down the rest.

What ending was this? I saw this movie on Prime and I could've sworn the movie ended with Salt jumping out of a helo and fleeing the scene. And what does it mean "Orlov is still out there"? I thought she offed him.

@@smartalek180 I doubt this was needed to set up a sequel, it was probably a unused ending when they chose to go with the release ending, which in itself was perfect to set up a sequel.

This ending was a thousand times better than the original which didn't make any sense or nor was it realistic. This is a movie. I hope one day they can either make a sequel or do a remake. Have another actress take on salt if Angelina doesn't want the job. But the storyline is solid and could be expanded so much more.

Totally agree that a sequel is neededc - but only if AJ does it . . . not an inadequate, substitute lookalike such as they used for the tomb raiders.
@mnomadvfx
@mnomadvfx 2 жыл бұрын
Substitute lookalike? First off AJ was cast in Tomb Raider 1 and 2 mostly for her huge rack to match Lara Croft from the original games as well as a rough approximation of the characters face. The casting of Alicia Vikander for Tomb Raider (2018) actually matches the appearance of the game reboot Lara. Beyond that I would say don't even bother to get a lookalike, just reboot Salt or recast without regard to appearance. After all, does Harrison Ford look like Alec Baldwin as Jack Ryan in Patriot Games? Not even slightly - but it still works very well. Ironically the same director who shot Salt also shot Patriot Games, and its sequel Clear and Present Danger. So forget AJ, cast Rebecca Ferguson and be done with it - she's a Swede and they usually do Russian roles very well.
