SPOILER: GGS, Well played to oKhaliD, definitely one of the, if not the best 1s player, I loved playing this series, and I always love playing oKhaliD since the games turn from a ‘hit ball, mechanical’ game to a game where you have to really think about EVERYTHING, it basically turns into chess. And his kickoffs are so fricking good, they are actually a skill, he changes his kickoffs based on how I land / how fast I go / how I’m hitting it, so even kickoffs turn into a mindgame. Loved playing this tourney, thank you Johnnyboi for the opportunity, and hope you guys enjoyed watching ❤️ (Maybe I should start air dribble bumping??😪)

Just_Do_It Nothing, basically what happens is I don’t play 1s for a long time inbetween tourneys, and this causes me to be inconsistent (where my playstyle goes for consistency), the more I play high level matches, the better and more consistent I get, that’s all.

CurlyO they tricky as fuck tho, but same shit applies, the more experience I get against em, the better I seem to defend them, even tho some of em still are undefendable if done right

@@Zyre_rl Well arent you friendly lol. But regardless, peak fairy didn't win the 5k. He also has never beaten Khalid in a show match or tournament match. There is no reason to think fairy would be ahead. Besides like Johnny has said in this tournament, Flakes is playing his best 1s. So if Khalid can beat Flakes at his best and Flakes could beat Fairy at this best then Khalid is easily on top of the whole thing isn't he? Im a Flakes fan (and twich sub) but for 1s we live in the age of Khalid at the moment. No point in denying that.

@@Zyre_rl Sorry for you, I am GC . Feel free to add me on steam to look at my title or look me up on a tracker Belthazor4011. But still it doesn't matter. If you understood the game you'd know a D3 is closer to a GC than a GC is to a pro. D3 to GC is less than 400 MMR. Pro to a GC is usually about 700+ MMR. So next time you think you are funny. Try to at least be semi right. Since you didn't know my rank AND you don't understand the ratios between ranks. And even if all of that wasn't true I based my words on game results and the commentary of Johnny who is also a GC, litterally gets paid to do replay reviews and has coached an RLCS winning team. Go grab a napkin to get that egg of your face son.

Spoilers: First and foremost, congrats to Khalid for the win and his insane run. Dude was a complete rock, mans consistency and his warrior mentality really stuck out. But... Flakes’ defense is a whole different level. Dude blocked some of the most dangerous looking aerial bumps, i’m sure he eats them for breakfast. Congratulations OkhaliD, unlucky Flakes. I'd just like to express how impressed I am with oKhaliD. What he has done in this tournament is just incredible. Taking down Eekso, Aztral, Alpha54, Flakes, Fairy Peak, OSM, Lionblaze, Chronic, one after the other. I mean the consistency to do that is just insane, no matter who you are, but to do it in your first major 1v1 tournament with no showmatch experience, that's just something else, and it wasn't all easy, he was up against it. Behind against Eekso in the EU finals 3-1, down against Flakes in the world finals. Things were looking bleak for him at certain points, he was like 36 seconds away from losing this series 4-2, in these situations a lot of players panic. So for oKhaliD keep it together, stayed focused and disciplined, again, with no 1v1 showmatch experience, having never been in a major 1v1 tournament before. That impressed me more than anything. For me 1v1 has always been fairy peak, scrub Killa, then everyone else, but oKhaliD has to be added to that list now, after what he has done.

I still don't believe how hard it is to win EU Salt Mine and the World undefeated!! Also, let's not forget the comebacks that oKhalid did. Being under pressure of losing and going home and being able to eventually win it all needs a hella strong mentality. oKhalid is the king of chess game in RL. GGs to Flakes who always surprises us with his playstyle and mind games. An incredible player. Congrats oKhalid for the great achievement! First of all, Johnny THANK YOU so much for all the work you have done this past few months with de salt mines. It was great to wait everyday for a new series, and watching this players progress through it all. I loved the whole thing, and can't wait for whatever next tournament you got in mind. As for the series... My god, that was like a chess match at times. In the MN5K I was rooting for Flakes, but this year Okhalid absolutly stole my attention since his first series against Aztral. What a player! The true King of 1v1. Defeating Flakes in the grand final is no small feat, that man is a beast in 1v1, and he brought his A game here. Anyway, thank you again Johnny, you are the best!

Johnny, this tournament has cemented you as THE forum for high level 1v1 in Rocket League. I’m really happy for that because RLCS hasn’t been interested in providing a high-tier competitive platform for duels yet, despite everyone who watches 1s knowing how much it could do for the esport. I love the content and can’t wait for what’s in store going forward. That being said, I would love to see more 2s as well! Its another game mode that hasn’t seen the love that 3s gets in RLCS, but has incredibly high potential and even more pros enjoy it than the amount that love 1s. Its super enjoyable to watch as well and would be really great to see on the channel. After seeing the 2s tournament on the channel earlier this year, I hope more tourneys involving pros playing 2s is in store for 2020!

Rewatching this I think this tournaments format was and production quality is absolutely amazing, definitely the best out of any tournament I've seen in the rocket league scene. Hope we get something like this in the 1s scene sometime in the future

I very much enjoyed the match. It is indeed a world final match that didn't disappoint us. The match shows that Flakes prepared well for OKhalid play style. He was very careful and cool even at the last minute, he was so focused and didn't let the pressure provoke him which Okhalid frequently take advantage of it against his opponents. I believe that made Okhalid a little too careful in some occasions. Their high consistency and adaptiveness to the opponent playstyle proved that they deserve 1's and 2's place. Flakes showed that he's the best defender and Okhalid showed that he's the best player in the world. ألف مبروك خالد ❤🇸🇦

Dang that was so enjoyable, that missed powerslide on the landing at 49:26 really made it obvious who was winning the grueling battle of wits and perseverance over this series. One of the few times I can say that a 7 game series was not only necessarily but supremely enjoyable for determining the superior player. Thanks so much for this epic tournament to Johnny and all of the participants

I have mad respect to all the people who participated in the tournment, especially Corn Flakes and Another one. But let's get this into prespective: OKhalid won this tourny clean without a series loss, coming in from the middle east and with a big ping difference... I think he's underrated and I wanted to clarify something regarding what the best caster of this game said: mechanics vs iq games. I think OKhalid plays an IQ game that is so high that Johnny doesn't seem to notice it (not denying Flake's brilliant iq plays). At some points of the series it seemed that Flakes had better mechanics compared to OKahild. Eventually the series could not have been better than it was between arguably the best 1v1 players.

When you will get the knack of playing in 100+ ping....it becomes much easier to play in lower pings. Most of the Asians play a lot in usw or eu servers so they can balance between pings easily. The only thing remaining is to reach the RLCS skill-level which I think will definitely happen in the near-future. Congo to Okhalid and Flakes as well..

Huge thanks to Johnnyboi for hosting this amazing tourney with so many incredible series where we as viewers had something amazing to watch for a few months. Your casting has been seriously entertaining and on point throughout this tourney as well, I wouldn't have it any other way. GGs to both Fieletakekkilyes and oChaloonallized5, it was an incredible final series. I don't think I have ever seen a series so heavily focused on tactics, it was like watching chess except with cars and a ball.

Amazing game! So sad Flakes got recked on so many kick-offs. It's also a skill but O'Khalid had so many kick-off pressure goals that it became impossible for Flakes, while he had the majority of the field outplays. Still an amazing series though! And big love to the best hosts of the Rocket League Community; JohnnyBoi and Brain! Without you it would not have happened. ggs

Hype Feel like a lot of people missed this ^ a lot of kickoff possessions went into oKhaliD’s favor, which means he gets the first play, which often gives a huge advantage, but I, as I have before, will say that there goes a lot of skill into kickoffs (and his skill was greater than mine in that area), that might just be something I have to work on 🤙

Wow cant believe this tournament is over... huge congrats to Okhalid with an absolutely legendary performance perhaps starting a new era of 1s given his unique playstyle and ping. I loved seeing Flakes in this final as well reminding all of us that he was considered the best in the world not long ago after taking down Fairy, and that his spot on top is solidified. Thank you Jhonnyboi for sharing your casting talents with us and for organizing and producing this kick ass tournament!

This was one of the best Christmas gifts I got lol. What an amazing final. Can't even believe the composure of Kalid in OT when Flakes is 1 goal away from the championship. ALSO - Johnnyboi you NEED to be like, the only RLCS announcer from now on. I actually enjoy your commentary, meanwhile the RLCS guys I wish I could just mute lol
