I broke the mainspring so I’ll show you how to repair a mainspring without having to order a new one. I’ll also show you how to remove the tarnish from a gold plated silver bracelet with a few household products, with damaging the gold plated finish. This thin manual wind omega caliber 620 also gets a clean and re-lubrication.

These videos are such a lovely change from my usual entertainment of old machinery restoration, which often consists of blokes bashing the crap out of old rusty iron with big hammers and gas torches. It's nice to know that not all problems are solved with a big hammer.

Getting told off, and taking it positively. Humility never fails. All the best to you!
@joseywales3789
@joseywales3789 2 жыл бұрын
I don't really believe that it's being "told off," it's forceful constructive criticism and it's worth listening to. Everyone wants to do the best job that they can do but over time, we all get into Bad Habits and Cut Corners. This is alright if we still are achieving the best job that we can do..... but when our work suffers and we carry on with the Bad Habits, we need pointing in the right direction and told how and why we are making a mistake. Accepting that constructive criticism, Accepting that we aren't doing the best job that we can do and accepting the fact that in every aspect of our lives, there's always something to learn and there's always someone better than us.... That's the humility!

@@joseywales3789 I do agree with you. I don't think he was being "told off." I just repeated his words. In any case, I think it was a genuine positive concern coming from one watch enthusiast to another, and meant to be entirely constructive. @Dakotadarkwolf 2 жыл бұрын
Awesome! You got a few Omega's. I do love those vintage types. See you got a tissot, got the T-classic myself and sadly it is not real gold but got it new way WAY under price! Thank you eBay! I was thinking you had a couple of Omega there. Maurice Lacroix, I knew that one was a gem, well to me anyway.. I knew I would be jealous. I would like to ask, what was the 80's 90's looking round, black face watch with the gold? No numbers just the hour and minute hand. Anyway you look like you got a winner there. For the record, I hate gold plating, in fact I just had to order more solution. I am trying to steer away from plating altogether! OMG the inside surprised the heck out of me! When I saw all that fuzz and hair wrapped around the crown stem I started to gag, then you pull it out of the case, flip it over and like I said, surprised the heck out of me. I cannot remember any used or old watch that looked that good with maybe the exception of my railway Rockford pocket watch. Can't wait to see what you do to that fine lady.. Let me know if you want a 20lb bag of more old vintage gals.. The really really small ones I will have to sell as is. I already got most of them cleaned and running great again.. BTW so many watch brands out there it's not even funny! Anyone ever hear of a Sears watch? Mind you it was made by Sears and even though it is a mechanical manual. Still looks pretty cheap, like it was made at Sears lol. Its nice and clean, runs great now, even took out the scratched up plastic lens out and replaced it with a cheaper crystal. Cheaper as in I didn't hardly pay anything for the who lot of many different sizes from a pawn and jewelry shop that I do a lot of watch repairs and some clock repairs for. They don't like to take clocks unless they know its one I am looking out for. Mainly its Rolex's Rolex's and a pocket watch here or there, then more Rolex's! Honestly I am NOT a Rolex fan. I do like the more rare ones with the leather or gator straps and like mine that has an actual pearl face with platinum case.. I only wore it three times in my life. Wonder if I will ever get to wear my Breitling.. Good luck Mr. Watchmaker! Look forward to seeing what you do as always..

Those cal 620's are my fave movement to work on, so easy and simple, I currently have one watch in my permanent collection with one, (my PFP) and 2 in my workshop.

Very nice finish 👍. I told my wife that I enjoy watching you dismantle and reassemble a time piece. I also told her your KZfaq name and she thought I said "Naked" and got me laughing asking if we get to see your " TikTok"? I had to spell your name for her. Told her I was going to tell you our exchange, we had a good laugh.

Thank you so much for the wonderful video. It was a great pleasure to watch the oiling process so up close and personal. I will admit though when the alien showed up I dove behind my easy chair then peeked over when trouble sounded the all clear 😊

Your videos have inspired me to try to make this a hobby for me. I've started getting some tools and odds and ends. But since I also have an accountant it might be a little longer before I'm ready! Keep up the good work!
