The Dark Eye is a very successful German high fantasy tabletop role-playing game started in 1984. The Finsterwacht (darksome watch) defends a series of watchtowers against the orks along the darksome ridge. The Saltatio Mortis album is set in that Dark Eye world and is acompanied by a novel The Fires of the Darksome Watch and a new Dark Eye solo adventure The Final Victory of the Pen (=female swan) where you can choose to play as Alea the travelling Bard based on the singer of Saltatio Mortis.

It wasn't Wacken, it was a medieval market. From the making of video: "I have a little flashback: I feel like I used to, 15 years ago at a medieval market, in the morning when I woke up on the campsite and I didn't know how I got there." “Is that how you always woke up?” "Yes, yes, I had a surprising amount of clothes for it..." "Did you always have so many orcs lying on top of you?" "Partly, you could call them orcs."

This Video is about the fight in Germany in the 80s/90s between the "Dungeons & Dragons" followers of Gary Gygax against the "Das schwarze Auge" Army standing with Ulrich Kiesow... :D (just a joke) But I remember that until the late 90s, even into 2000, many fantasy RPG Players in Germany where either D&D or DSA players, and seldom someone was able to admit liking both systems for different reasons. Saltatio Mortis Members have a history with RPG, as one of their members was (or is) in the editorial office, and even wrote chapters about Karlsruhe, for the german publisherand books of Shadowrun. EDIT: I never was at Wacken, just some smaller festivals in Germany, but: Your interpretation this song from an after festival infield aftermath was just so hilarioius great! And could really be so on point! :)

The story you told during the video was funny in general, but I have to admit that I think it's a shame that this reaction really wasn't about the song at all. Sure, it's in German and you don't understand the lyrics, but still there were very few comments about the music in this video, from my perspective. I like watching your reactions, and I'm always happy when you get a reaction to a song I like. I also always like how you manage to talk about the story behind the song as well as the music itself with the Sabaton songs for example, but in my opinion the music was given relatively little attention in the reaction and you may have gotten a bit fokused on the Story about Wakken etc., which is ok, just not really my thing.
