Love the way Barry, Jacob and Archie speak about working with Emerald. There's an obvious respect and genuine affection between the cast and their director. And what a cast!

Barry is so himself in Interviews, I love that. And I recognize my own when he behaves like "typical ADHD" moves and stuff which is so sweet. Archie and Jacob are more professional when they talk which is awesome too. 🥰

Oh, I hope there's a Blu-ray release and those deleted scenes Fennell were briefly discussing are included because now I want to know what heinously horny misadventures Oliver and Farleigh got up to.
@catie53376 ай бұрын
I’ve been hoping for this too, but since it’s distributed by Amazon I think it’s going to end up on Prime with no physical release, and I don’t think they include the deleted scenes/extras on prime like they do in itunes 🥲
@AngelofMusic046 ай бұрын
@@catie5337It being distributed by Amazon/MGM is definitely a reason for concern, but we have gotten Blu releases for "Air" and "Bones and All" and I know the fanbase for "Red, White & Royal Blue" have been pushing Amazon for a release so its not entirely out of the question.

@Senate3005 ай бұрын
@@timskully3496 No doubt. I found the sexual tension and powerplay between more compelling than Oliver's pining for Felix. Venitia had the most potential to be Oliver's distraction, partner in crime or worthy opponent.

Maybe I’m a Felix apologist or something, but I genuinely don’t see him as any worse than any decent, well-meaning person with human flaws; these are my main takeaways on why I’m very positive on him: 1) he is way more well-adjusted after growing up with that family than he had any right to be (I mean look at poor Venetia) 2) he’s completely sincere and open; there’s not a false or deceptive note about him
@jimf80475 ай бұрын
I don't think he's meant to be seen as worse.
@ZendenKing5 ай бұрын
He's definitely portrayed as the kind soul in the film, what with the imagery of Felix's angel wings vs Oliver's silhouetted horned god-esque costumes in the climatic confrontation Even Elspeth herself says that Felix sees the best in everyone
@elirydoll5 ай бұрын
I like greatly believe Felix had a savior complex of some sort, especially with how insistent he was on going to Prescott after Oliver’s mothers call
@loekust5 ай бұрын
felix's worst crime is being ignorant of his extreme privilege as well as seeming to enjoy toying with the way people fawn over him. this does not make him a bad person. he just has some bad habits. and unlike oliver, felix isn't manipulative at all. he's not conniving. he truly wants to be friends (and perhaps more) with oliver but at the same time, felix very much enjoys the idea of taking this sad little loner boy under his wing and appearing to be this wonderful altruistic good guy for it.

Typical blind stans of actors you're horny for. Always falling for that condescending attitude and fakeness of the high class and actors just because they show a few moments of vulnerability.

i think you mean the guy who played Farley auditioned 4 times. Barry Keoghan didn't audition. I think Emerald Fennell had seen him in a film Killing of the Sacred Deer and wanted him to play Oliver so he didn't need to bother.

It was so kind of the father to die at such a convenient time. Quality screenwriting there... No police investigation of the poisoning? Yeah, that'd be inconvenient...

also felix was not "poisoned" he overdosed, and with rich families, its common to pay for it to be hidden, so its doesnt bring a shame on families name

Sad we can’t cast American Actors that believe in and fight for their union in America. I lost a lot of respect for all of them for the way they reacted to that question and how sad it must be for the American actors contributing to SAG year after year who would have died to be in that film.

A pathetic parody of a black comedy and a frankly meaningless and unironic picture. Pseudo comedy, pseudo drama, pseudo thriller. Stupid banal and vulgar plot, inexpressive acting, mediocre Mr. Ripley in the era of hyper-cynicism and post-truth.
